Rachel Van Dyken is a goddess when it comes to writing. She's my girl crush. Seriously.
Eternal takes us back to Seaside just in time for Demetri and Alyssa's wedding and for the arrival of Nat's baby! It was so amazing! We get Alex, Demetri, Jaymeson, AND the boys from her Ruin series - Gabe and Wes. Heaven, pure Heaven! I laughed so much throughout. And of course we get our super sweet moments where I cried. There were plenty of swoon worthy lines as well. It had everything! I already want to start at the beginning and re-read!! <3
If you've read the Ruin Series by Rachel Van Dyken you will notice that some of the characters from that series are in Eternal as well, and Gabe and Wes fit right in with the craziness that is Alec, Demetri and Jaymeson! Watching Demetri get all cave man and jealous of Gabe "Ashton" was hilarious and his antics are quite hilarious. Same with the comments from the peanut gallery (Alec and Jaymeson).
In Eternal we get to see Alyssa and Demetri finally tie the knot, and I couldn't be happier to see these two finally get to "I Do" even if things didn't go exactly as planned. Demetri's fear of birds is definitely in this book, and adds a ton of humor to the story. I loved how the guys all interacted with one another, and the combining of these two series into this book was beautifully done. I felt like Wes, Gabe, Saylor and Kiersten have been a part of the series the entire time with how they were written in.
Like each book in this series, there is some drama, but nothing too bad, the guys will bring you laughs, and the girls are just as hilarious, especially at the spa!
I have come to love these characters and really want to see more of them! I can't say goodbye to them yet, especially with everything they've been through. I adore each and everyone of them, and am so happy to see them all get their well deserved HEA!
Eternal was full of laughs, tears, and had me swooning for these guys like each and every book before this one! Rachel Van Dyken knows how to write a story that even with a HEA will leave you wanting more of these amazing characters.
"I wanted John Legend."
The Seaside gang is back! And they have another gang with them! The Ruin people! Before anything else, I need to put this out there:
Seaside and Ruin guys together shouldn't happen anymore because...
they're too pretty in one book I thought I was going to die. But at least I'll die happy right?
Two pages into Eternal and I'm already laughing and dying. It was so refreshing to read something light and heartwarming and inspiring from Rachel Van Dyken. Even though this was about Dem and Alyssa's marriage, I loved that Rachel did not leave out everyone else. Alec and Nat having their baby is the sweetest ever. Alec is now a father! I couldn't even imagine it!
"You may be my new princess. But your mama is my queen."
The highlight of this book was Alyssa's surprise bridal shower. I totally swooned with tears in my eyes when Dem and Gabe did One Direction!
"Hell had officially frozen over in front of my very eyes."
Plus Justin Timberlake, plus Jason Derulo. BEST THING EVER! And I'm still swooning with more tears during those parts. I even listened to the songs while reading.
"He hated singing other people's songs. But he was singing some of my favorites..."
I super love this book! Rachel should write more like this. It was so much fun and I am 100% sure that everyone will enjoy it as much as I had.
