Editorial Reviews

Review

With many compelling images, The Ethiopian Wolf: Hope at the Edge of Extinction is a magnificently illustrated book exploring the challenges of rescuing a critically endangered species in a rapidly changing world. Barring a miracle, Ethiopian Wolves may be headed for extinction. We, the conservation-minded, are the miracle that this endangered wolf needs now. --Larry J. Schweiger, President, National Wildlife Federation

While it is almost impossible to translate the magic and mysticism surrounding the Bale Mountains of Ethiopia, having been one of the few photographers who has had the privilege to visit, I can attest to their incomparable beauty and charm. For those who might never get a chance to experience it, this book provides a glimpse into this fantastic universe of mist and drizzle still untouched by industrial development, where it is possible to find creatures of tremendous beauty and wonderful power like the mountain Nyala and the Ethiopian wolf. The magnificent work showcased in this book by both photographers and writer, will no doubt capture the world s attention. As they travel, these images and words will become ambassadors for a place that is changing fast and its message will hopefully find a place into the hearts and minds of those who can protect it. --Cristina Mittermeier, Founder, International League of Conservation Photographers
