An excellent tool for the noise-averse user, the WhirlWind LiteSpeed vacuum from Eureka is a powerful machine designed for multiple floor types and above-floor cleaning. One of the company's quietest upright models, the 12-amp vacuum features a lightweight, anti-tip design and a 13-inch cleaning path for efficient floor coverage. The floor nozzle has an edge-cleaning construction and seven adjustable heights to handle everything from bare floors to shag. Dirt collection on the WhirlWind is bag-free--when the large dust collection cup gets full, simply pop it off and empty it in the trash. Allergy sufferers can also appreciate this upright--it comes with a true HEPA filtration system to trap dust, dander, pollen, and spores inside the machine. The filtration system is sealed for maximum performance. For above-floor cleaning tasks, the vacuum sports an onboard hose and attachments. The hose is extra-large in diameter to resist clogs, and the attachments include an extension wand, a wand/crevice tool, and a dusting brush. Eureka includes a one-year limited warranty. --Emily BedardSee all Product description

The point I wanted to make was for berber carpeted floors: Since this vacuume has powered roller brush, it it important that you DO NOT set the height sellection to the lowest setting. This setting is only intended for bare tiled or wood floors. If you use the lowest height setting on berber carpet, the followng things will happens:
1. The roller brush will literally "brush" your carpet, this could result in carpet burns (Remember it is very powerful machine)
2. Since the roller has to brush hard, it will wear out faster and possibally damage the roller belt.
Don't get discouraged, this machine works excellent on the berber carpets, the only trick is to set the height setting to a point where the roller brush barely touches the carpet. This will ensure that you do get brushing action on the carpet but at the same time it will not harm either your carpet or vacuume.
Other people about the hose are right. Becasue it is powerful machine, the hose gets shortened due to the pressure and occationally gets kinks at the bends. The trick is to make sure that you don't cause sharp curves on the hose while using it.
Happy vaccuming, you gonna love this machine.
Not that it really matters, but I was pleasantly surprised at how attractive it is. From the picture you only see blue and some yellow. The blue part has silver glitter and I like anything that has glitter. It's not a girly kind of glitter, so guys, do not fear.
Our house is only 2 years old and I am doubting that my old vaccuum was doing much of anything during that time. I've probably sucked up 2 years worth of dirt out of my carpets. SO much dirt that it leaves me wondering where oh where did all this dirt come from? We don't wear shoes in the house and we have no indoor pets. Nonetheless, I feel my house is MUCH cleaner after buying and using this sweeper - after looking at all the crud in the cup!!!
My only complaint is that the suction is so strong that when you try to use the hose with the crevace tool, it collapses the hose and worries me that it's eventually going to make a hole in the hose (from the bending).
The first time I used it it filled the canister up 3/4 the way, but my old vacuum really wasn't doing the job. I was really amazed at the amount of dirt that came out of the filter. It looked like the stuff that was under the old carpet we tore out.
This vacuum is really lightweight and easy to use. My Mom purchased a bagless Dirt Devil for about the same price and it's like pushing a tank around.
I'm going to buy another one for my mother-in-law.
