Top Customer Reviews
The pads are made of a thin, foam-like material that doesn't leave any lint or residue behind after polishing. Each pad is bonded with micro-abrasives which don't leave scratches like steel wool does. Since they're thin and flexible, the edges of the pad can be used to get into tight places. While they definitely add shine, when I want a very shiny mirror-finish, I finish up with a polishing cloth or buffer.
Besides overall shining of your silver, these pads make a beautiful difference for highlighting the raised (relief) areas of silver metalworks when antiquing/darkening substances such as silver-black or liver of sulfur have been worked into the design.
I keep them stored in a zip-lock bag since they seem to get dried out and don't work as well when they do. If you use them in an area where you do metal-working, be careful to keep them put away. Metal dust and debris along with other small particles will stick to the surface so that the next time you use the pad, it will scratch rather than polish. Just remember...zip-lock bag.
