I might have to buy another of these while I can and store it, even though I have a feeling this chair won't break as quickly as others I've had.
Now to the ASSEMBLY INJURY:
When sliding part number 11, the BACKREST POST into part number 7 the BACKREST, if you hold the backrest at the center of the "Y" part of it, with your fingers gripping around it and into the recesses in the back, you can then slide the backrest post too far into the backrest ( past where the bolt holes align ) and crush the sheet out of your fingers!! It was an extremely painful crushing of the top of two fingers. Not good for a CAD operator.
The fingers got ice, the fool got bourbon.
These chairs ( in my opinion ) would also work perfectly for the raised bar of a rec room or man cave because of the seat height. They are much more comfortable than your typical bar stool.
Anyway, good value and seems like a very good product.
I build things as a hobby. These are not problems with my self assembly.
Given that other reviews do not mention this, I suspect that if these are not problems with the build/design of the chair, then these chairs have a inconsistent build quality, and I got a bad one.
This won't be tall enough for a person over 5' 7" to use as a standing desk chair. I am 5'7 and it has to be at its tallest height for me to jump on and off without adjusting the desk. The back of the chair sinks all the way down and does not stay up - it makes an impressive clicking noise like it will settle where you want it to, but it does not stay at the vertical height you want it to.
Arms do adjust and so do the seat height and foot rest height. Assembly was mostly easy with a few moments of intense perplexity.
ON EDIT: After giving up on getting replacement parts under the lifetime warranty, I threw both in the dumpster and bought another brand. No one ever called back, even after multiple phone calls.
The reason is that I have to raise this to its maximum height to have a comfortable position at my standing desk. At its max height, the foot support ring can't be raised high enough to provide comfortable support. As a result (or perhaps it's just a quirk of the chair), I feel like I'm pitched forward in the chair at all times. I have to actively support myself with my feet at all times.
This wouldn't be a problem if the seat angle were adjustable or the back allowed some give.
FYI the top of my desk is about 47" from the floor.
It's a solid, well built chair but I would advise tall people who want this as a supplement to a standing desk to look elsewhere.

Arm rests and foot rest adjustable in height as well as seat.
An excellent purchase.
