Evangelion 3.0 Q You Can (not) Redo the 3rd film In the tetralogy as directed by Hideaki Anno was from the start of the film a real kick to the heart. Everything that ended 2.0 has since been moved over for a 14 years later story that takes place In one of the more depressing futures to come about. That's the only piece of Information I'll give. But wow.. I loved Evangelion 2.0 but this.. this was like living the life of Shinji, feeling all those emotions coming at you all at once slowly questioning and finding out what happened after 2.0's events Is really heartbreaking. And just as Shinji did, you feel lost, confused & responsible.

I won't be dividing this review Into sections as I did the other two, because you can probably guess I loved every aspect of this film from beginning to end. So this review will be a tad shorter.. what I can say though Is Hideaki Anno Is one hell of a director, (even though he served as chief manager of the films) he took me and made me a fan of his series, one from nothing to everything. On a side note, I'm more than confident In his abilities to handle Godzilla.. hell I was confident just reading his bio when he was announced. But anyway, the 3 films have Impacted me greatly. As a movie watcher, a movie reviewer.. hell even as a person. While the series Is a sci-fi series with little grounded reality the films still managed to sink In and really display a message of a multitude of meanings. Quite the feat for an animated series on my end. Every minute of this film I was kept In stitches as to what was going to be discovered next, finding out what happened to Rei, finding out who this Kaworu Nagisa guy was (who had been teased at the end of both the 1.0 & 2.0 films) & most Importantly finding out what Shinji's father has been up to throughout all 3 of these films & when It Is revealed most of the questions asked throughout all the films Is answered and you're left with an answer that really shakes you, It really shook me I know that. The film as the other 2 handled the drama perfectly & while there was minimal action In this flick the opening and ending scenes were bursting with beautiful visuals and jaw dropping fights leading to the "To Be Continued" screen.
Which surprised me, It was stuck In my mind that there were only 3 films, but the term "tetralogy" never stuck as a term for "4". I didn't want to look too far Into the films to avoid spoiling them.

So, what are my hopes for Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 ?
Well, I honestly just want Shinji to be happy, I want to see him come full circle as a character and truly grow and see life through to It's full abilities. Same for Rei, Asuka, Mari and the rest of the crew. They're all such likable characters It's hard to hope for anything but happiness for them. With the mixture of drama and action In there as well.

Evangelion 3.0 You Can (not) Redo Is a beautiful film, while I still favor 2.0 the most out of the 3 so far, I cannot deny the sheer awesome and beauty of 3.0 either. I give Evangelion 3.0 a 5/5 I loved every minute of It.. even when I was In the state of a horrible mixture of sadness and confusion.

FUNimation that is, who released Evangelion 1.11 & 2.22, and are scheduled to release 3.33 in February of 2014.
This however is a Malaysian release, Japanese audio with Malay, Chinese and English subtitles. Furthermore, it's really the 3.0 theatrical cut--
Well, thing is, the FUNimation releases are a few minutes longer than their 1.0 and 2.0 theatrical counterparts, with some visual improvements, thus the double digits, each two discs; movie & special features.
This thing, almost twice the price of either of FUN's, is one disc, with no extras.
Why then do I five star love it?
Well, it's Evangelion; I got to see it early and it'll be interesting to compare it with the real 3.33 version; and did I mention it's Evangelion?
Or rather, the Rebuild of Evangelion, an intended four-part remake of the TV series (Neon Genesis/Shin Seiki Evangelion to give its full U.S./Japan titular due; shin seiki means new era, century, etc., the official transliteration being Gospel of a new Century); the fourth part (yet another new conclusion*) is slated for a 2015 release, in Japan that is, but given the erratic production history of this often troubled franchise I'm not holding my breath.
*Darn, I've again forced myself into a bit of a tangent--but s'all good, y'all.
The rushed and budget-restricted, not to mention annoyingly confusing two-episode conclusion of the TV series (I'll spare you the details) was a bitter disappointment to the production staff, particularly producer, writer and director Hideaki Anno, and worse, utterly despised by the series' many fans, who weren't shy about making their feelings known to Anno, et. al (when displeased Japanese anime fans tend to be worse than a pack of rabid Trekkies, as Leiji Matsumoto found out when he killed off most of the beloved Space Battleship Yamato cast in the second movie).
This resulted in two 2-part movies:
Death & Rebirth; Death is a clips condensation of series episodes 1 - 24 with new linking scenes, while Rebirth is about the first 3rd of the second film (a sort of bonus preview I suppose).
Originally to be titled Rebirth, the second film's two all-new parts, billed ep. 25 & 26, were intended to replace the series' final episodes with a more 'real world' (not mention more sane) conclusion.
Still unsatisfied, Anno decided that the only way to tell the 'real' story of Evangelion (essentially the Apocalypse rendered in SF terms and involving the heavy use of Christian, Shinto and other religious allusions and symbolism often too archaic or abstruse for the average viewer to 'get') was to start from scratch, thus the Rebuild, for which, to assure freshness, Anno chose to employ a whole new studio and staff (probably to the great relief of the originals).
And thus endth today's sermon; thank you, Brethren, and take care; I'm off to watch something simpler, like Satoshi Kon's Paranoia Agent (n'yuk, n'yuk!)

Sono Una FAN di Evangelion dai tempi della messa in onda su MTV :) e mi sono finalmente decisa di recuperare il Rebuild in bluray nell'attesa del 3.0+1.0

in questa recensione parlerò dell'edizione ricevuta senza soffermarmi sui film visto che sono già stati descritti perfettamente nelle precedenti recensioni.

il cofanetto più semplice di cosi non si poteva fare , ma non è certo colpa di Dynit visto che la maggior parte delle versioni europee/USA sono identiche . all'interno è presente un piccolo booklet con la spiegazione del Rebuild e qualche artwork dei protagonisti dell'opera

NB. nel 3.33 il booklet è a tutti gli effetti un libricino spillato , invece all'interno al 1.11 e 2.22 era una versione ripiegata.

He estado esperando esta BD desde 2014, hubo rumores que ya tenian los discos en almacen desde hace tiempo, pero realmente nunca se explicó por que se empezó a vender hasta 2016.

Esta es la versión americana de Funimation, eso explica por que es un poco costosa, pero lo bueno es que incluye varios extras. Incluye una caja de cartón para protección, un libro con arte y unos extras incluidos en el disco. El diseño del producto tiene el mismo estilo minimalista que 2.22, la caja y el disco solo usan un solo color.

No voy a cuestionar la película en si. Creo que esta ha sido la película mas polémica de la serie, causó muchas opiniones encontradas en cuanto a la historia, aun entre los fans de Evangelion. En lo personal 2.22 sigue siendo mi favorita, pero 3.33 me ha gustado lo suficiente como para dejarme esperando por 4.44 (o 3+1, o como sea que se llame la ultima parte).

La calidad de imagen y sonido es impecable. Las peliculas de Rebuild tienen una mezcla entre animación 2D y 3D, y esta tercera parte no ha sido la excepción, la animación impresiona en cada escena, lo colores son brillantes (predomina el rojo), y esta llena de detalles por todos lados. Es de esas peliculas que sabes que van a superar la prueba del tiempo.

El libro de arte no se siente tan premium, pero es aceptable. Esta a color e incluye diseños de los personajes, evas y angeles en la película. En 3.33 es la primera vez que se hace un rediseño fuerte de todos los personajes, y es bueno poder apreciarlos a detalle fuera de la película.

En México, Zima tambien ha estado vendiendo sus propias versiones de Rebuild, que son mucho más económicas, pero no traen los extras ni el empaque premium. La ventaja de las versiones de Zima es que incluyen el audio en español, que por cierto ni es bueno, pero es chitoso verla de nuevo en español. Zima aun no publica su version de 3.33 (La anunciaron para mediados de 2015, pero cancelaron sin dar razones), pero es una opción si buscan algo mas económico.

Chez d'oeuvre incontestable dès le début du film au niveau animation, ce 3ème volet sera (très) difficile a comprendre aux néophytes. Car pour moi c'est une sorte de suite dans un monde Uchronique de "The End of Evangelion" mais avec bien sur des détails différents (uchronique jvous dis !)
Un rythme et un scénarios surprenant et a laquelle on ne s'attendait pas, malgré la fin du précédent film.
Si le 1er était un prologue et le 2ème une nouvelle manière de raconter la série pour nous amener a un résultat qui en laisseras plus d'un sur la touche, sachant qu'on attend encore le 4ème, 7ans après la sortit du 1er, 6 après celle du 2ème, et ce dernier sortit en 2013.
Efficacement filmée les scènes s'enchainent aux rythme de nouvelles informations dans un monde ayant subie le 3ème impact et ses conséquences désastreuse, mais dont le plan de complémentarité ne serait pas achever ?!
Un film quasiment centrer sur Shinji ou les scènes d'actions sont aussi importante que les discussions ou les partitions de pianos, c'est toujours du Evangelion de H.Anno quoi !
Quoi dire de plus ? Chez d'oeuvre comme 3ème Chapitre mais la vision global reste encore vague et le 4ème se fait attendre par les fans.
D'ailleurs certains ne sont pas convaincus de la direction scénaristique qu'a pris le réalisateur, incompris par certains depuis la série et le film "The End of Enangelion" qui n'a arranger les choses, et enchainent avec ce 3ème film qui séparent les 4 films en 2 partis avant et après le 3ème impact.
Enfin si il en fait un 5ème là je sait pa ou sa iras !

Evangelion 3.33　Spanish version is my favorite buy, because as a bonus for me it comes with Catalan version as well. As a matter of fact, I don’t understand any Catalan at all, but it is a good bonus for me because I like to enjoy Evangelion series in foreign languages. Since the May 2013, I have enjoyed Evangelion 3.33 in Japanese ( my mother language) and were getting tired of Japanese lines, I would like to see Asuka and Rey speak foreign language. In Spanish I could only pick up some familiar words , which I learned my poor and humble Spanish study, like the Rey’s line “ Ikari, ?donde estas?” , (In Japanese “ Ikari kun, doko”), here I could understand that in Japanese, Rey’ s feeling to Shinji described as “kun” , however it seems to me to be described in Spanish “estas” . Such a findings are very interesting fo me.
The Evangelion 3.33　Spanish version also comes with Blu-ray “B” disk, however, Japan belongs to “A” area but you have always AKIHABARA electric appliance town in Japan somehow I………
