Mike McGuire is a person that believes God loves people, individual people created in His own image. Consequently, whoever they may be, each is of infinite value to Him. No one can read the gospel records without being impressed by the attention Jesus gives to each and all and doing evangelism one-on-one.
Mike believes that it is doubtful if any evangelism is effective without prayerful and persistent outreach to individual people. He writes because he believes there is no substitute for daily unspectacular witness of the rank and file Christian. That’s why he believes if that witness is consistent and open, then no improvement in tactics or strategy will better it as a means of winning people for Christ. This author believes this is a lesson we have been slow to learn and that’s what produced this valuable book.
Mike McGuire is open and honest in saying, no evangelistic program or technique, no matter how creative or ambitious, will make the slightest difference unless ordinary Christians are motivated to do "evangelism on the go." It is not a point that is overstated—there are never-ending opportunities of talking to people about Jesus. It makes "Evangelism on the Go" not only a great title for a book but a vital issue to be faced by today’s Christians.
Here is a book on evangelism at once practical, encouraging and challenging—the book calls for greater urgency and total involvement. Mike McGuire believes, compared with evangelism, "everything else happening in the church is like rearranging furniture when the house is on fire."
