Bell Hartley is a cocktail waitress at an exclusive gambling room, a college student trying to make her way in life after surviving a really rough childhood. She sees Dario Capece one night when he comes into The House. She knows who he is. He's married to Gwen Hawk, Vegas royalty whose father owns multiple casinos on the Strip. His reputation precedes him, and Bell is immediately intrigued and fascinated with him. As he is with her. Everyone warns her to stay away from him. But what is that saying, people always want what they cannot have?
Alessandra weaves a twisty tale of two people who know they shouldn't be together, have never wanted to be in a serious relationship with anyone before, but they just can't stay away from each other. This obviously presents unique challenges for this couple. Dario is married, and Bell has no desire or intention of being anyone's mistress. And even though Dario and Gwen have an "understanding", her father would do anything necessary to make sure no one ever wrongs his daughter. And if any of the longstanding rumors about her father are true, God help anyone that ends up in Robert's Hawk's crosshairs.
I was so immersed in this book. There are so many elements included throughout that created a perfect story filled with drama, suspense, twists, passion, sex, and that shocking cliffhanger! Oy vay, I'm dying for book 2!!
PINCH OF A SPOILER FOLLOWS...
This book is a cliffhanger. Unfortunately I have no interest in purchasing the next part of the story.
He watched her and felt something he didn't understand. Vulnerability with a side of fear. Want eclipsed need.
Will they give in to what they feel? There is so much at stake.
I tried to find my thoughts, my sanity, my control. How had he decimated everything with just a kiss?
I could not put this book down. Instantly pulled into this story. Pages kept flying by.
This book was perfection!
Vulnerability was a luxury he couldn't afford, and each interaction with her brought it in spades.
"In regards to your heart? I can't protect that. That's a risk you're going to have to decide wether or not to take."
"I can't love you and not protect you. I can't love you and not fight for you."
Swoon! Dario is perfect. This story had me dying to read more! Cannot wait to see how this story is going to end. hat ending though!
Dario is a charismatic man that has most women dropping to their knees for him but when he meets Bell, well lets just say she's not so easily swayed. I loved the sassy, independent, and strong female character that is Bell, she has been through hell and back and is taking control of her life. She uses men for sex and doesn't want a relationship with anyone...she is what most men would consider the perfect women.
Dario is married, I have to mention this because I know there are a lot of readers that will not read a book with cheating and will leave a negative review because of it. Dario's marriage is one of convenience and both he and his wife have extramarital affairs, there is a love of friendship between the two but not one of intimacy that most married couples would have, therefore I do not feel as if Dario is cheating on his wife especially since she knows about his lovers and he knows about hers.
Even Money has it all and then some, Alessandra Torre hits another one out of park with Dario and Bell’s story. I highly recommend this story to anyone that enjoys a good Romantic Suspense with one heck of a story line and two likable Main Characters. Happy Reading!
