The seat was extremely easy to adjust for everything on it. The straps slid so smoothly, but once they were locked in place that car seat literally is not going anywhere. I got it out of the box, adjusted, and installed in less than an hour.
My kid loves it too, the blue color is very pretty and he said that it was "Super comfy and snuggleifrick." Not 100% sure what snuggleifrick means but it sounds like a good 2 year old review.
This seat is great, especially for tall children. My two year old is the size of an average 4 year old and trying to find a 5 point harness that would accommodate him for at least a couple more years was difficult until I found this one.
Definitely worth it for the value. Will recommend to my friends and family.
We needed a seat with a 5-point harness that would eventually become a seatbelt seat for him. But the seat just isn't made for bigger kids. It says in the description that it's good for up to 57 inches and 110 pounds, but I can't imagine a kid that size in this seat. Our 46-inch, 50- pound kid has maxed it out. I had planned for this to be his seat until he want to a small booster. But we've already moved him to a high-back booster instead.
For one thing, the head rest does not raise or lower. It's static, so it won't always line up with your child. And because of that, there's no adjusting for their height. Our son's head (again, he's over 10 inches below the advertised size) is above the headrest already.
Second, the lower cushion is fastened to the seat in the front by plastic clips that pop out with little pressure. Our son seats himself and when he slides into the seat, the front cushion popped out every time. We replaced the plastic clips a few times, but gave up after a week or so because it's just going to keep happening.
Those are my two biggest gripes, with the size being the biggest disappointment.
The tensioner on the latch system is very difficult to undo after the seat is tightly secured. It takes a LOT of effort to undo if you need to move the seat. But this is the same with the Gracos we own, so it's unfortunate but expected, especially at this price range.
Other than that, it's a fine enough seat. It's definitely a $60 seat. Don't expect bulk, features, or frills. It's pretty no-nonsense and it gets the job done for smaller kids. In fact, we'll keep it to use for our 2-year-old when his Graco expires soon. Just be cautious about using it with slightly older kids because of the size.
Pros: very light weight, seat cover and straps are washable, two cup holders, easy to access front cinching strap. Price is great, very reasonable and affordable for any family.
Cons: takes up about the same 'volume' of cubic inches as a standard car seat. Fabric was more of an aqua color than the blue as pictured, and it felt like it would irritate my kids skin when they wore shorts in the summer. Biggest con was it was a gigantic pain to install, and then uninstall from the seat. The clips that go into to the LATCH anchors of the seats was very hard to un secure to take it back out of my vehicle. I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both of my hands and sometimes my grip is weak, even with my strongest grip, I couldn't get the seat back out of my car without much cursing.
So, as much as I thought these seats looked great, I chose to return them. My kids will be in their current car seats for at least another year and then go to a booster with a shoulder belt.
