I enjoyed it, and I'd recommend it especially to those who are new to the topic of America/americana in the 1900s. It also, because of the subject's later life, has interesting anecdotes from the 50s and 60s.
I found only one technical error in the entire book. That's not bad if you read a lot of Kindle memoirs/histories.
If you love a good yarn, have a place in your heart for an honorable veteran of the armed services, or can admire a man who served this country in WWII, through the war in Vietnam - then enjoy reading this wonderful, touching story.
God bless you Major Bishop, and you too Ms. Brock, for what you have both done to honor us all.
She brings humanity and an understanding of how a person survives and can thrive after experiencing war, by telling this soldier's life in clear and accurate setting.
It's hard for us to imagine life with without a cell phone. But inspite of our inability the author draws the setting and time clearly, so the reader experiences it accurately.
