Very much one sided--only the positive was written about. The company went bankrupt -- there were a lot
of negatives. Many men and women lost their jobs and some even lost thousands of dollars at the end.
One pilot committed suicide; one wonders if it was the forced ending of his Evergreen career.
This was such a wonderful company and many great people were involved. My husband still hears from
Evergreen employees now working for other airlines. They are a close group, who went through a lot
as Evergreen became less and less responsive to its responsibilities.

So if you are a millionaire you can write your own book about you. I get it. But it is probably best to hire an editor. I wanted to read about how he made his millions....just not about every penny of it. The whole book could of been 1/2 as long.

I have known Del Smith for nearly 50 years. He's an amazing man, the epitome of rags to riches (he was adopted by a sweet woman in McMinneville, Oregon). His life-long accomplishments deserves a more emotion-based telling.

Interesting story of a self made man

I bought my book at the museum in McMinnville and had it autographed by Del Smith. An outstanding story of a orphaned kid who became very creative at a young age and continued that way through the years to build a great empire and a person who knows some greatest people in the world. His admoratiom for kids and unfortunates is outstanding. Here is hoping his health will withstand the bumps in the road. The book is great however there are some adventures in his life that are missing. Maybe there will be another few chapters. God speed Del.
