The parts in the box don't correspond with the instructions included. The bolts are very difficult to install. I had to buy a special tool and even then it was extremely difficult. It's as though someone makes this product in their basement on their day off. This one's going back. Save your time and keep looking.

I put this thing together and for the start I felt it was very cheaply made. After just three punches, the punching bag went flying. It completely snapped off and I just stood there in shock. This was the worst $120 I have ever spent. I can Not believe they would sell this product. Do Not buy this, you might as well throw away your money.

Another piece of chinese crap.
Don't buy it.
I weight 150 lbs and the entire thing moves around like crazy when i punch it.
The screws (being cheap chinese screws) split as you try to tighten the base up.

An absolute waste of money .

Will return it and buy one made in America

don't buy it.

I agree with the individual who said this cannot take a punch. It can't. I weigh 165 pounds, am not a boxer by any stretch of the imagination, and after one week I punched the bag and cracked the connector tube that fits the bag stem to the base. I returned the broken piece to the store where I'd purchased it and swapped it for the one on their floor model, but six months later the SAME THING HAPPENED. This time, I had to deal with Everlast directly to see about ordering a new part, but Everlast doesn't directly deal with parts, they forward requests to a third party company that has to contact YOU in return...a week later, I'm still waiting for them to contact me.

The product is not durable; if you fill the base with sand, you will wind up with sand leaking out of the connector plate at the top of the base; and parts are a ridiculous hassle to get. Buy at your own risk, but I agree with all the other one-star reviews for this. It's expensive junk.

Wish i could have given 0 stars. I've purchased 2 of them. The first one broke after a few months, thinking maybe the one I purchased was a defective. I purchased another one, only to have the same problem. The stem is made of cheap plastic and can't support a few punches... I'm sooooo disappointed. I can't believe Everlast still has this product on the market. Needs to be recalled! Obviously several people have had the same problem. Is the manufacturer not aware of this or is this a scam to rip people off!!!!!

The instructions were just a little unclear as far as identifying parts because of how they were packed in the box otherwise I would have given this item 5 stars. (I had to take it apart to find them all in order to put it together correctly) That being said, once I was able to locate all parts and put this bag together, it's well suited for my training needs! My husband and stepson have even hit and kicked it extremely hard and it has held up well. I used water to weight it and didn't fill it completely so there is some movement. Of course that is with it sitting on a surface that allows it to slide some. In the instructions it is suggested to place the heavy bag on a "non skid" surface. I am going to change it to sand weighted only because I prefer it to be dry weighted and the base weight with sand is 370 pounds vs 250 pounds with water (also recommended in instructions to use sand for best performance). I would definitely recommend this bag and have actually recommended it. I think it is definitely worth the price. It is good quality and worth the $100 I spent on it.

(One star only because there is no rating lower). Everlast is trading on their storied brand name in professional boxing by foisting this piece of garbage on an unsuspecting public. Before it broke it was fine for what it was supposed to do; a heavy bag without having to deal w/hanging a bag from the rafters. In other words, the concept of a free-standing heavy bag is sound; but their execution is terrible. The plastic post/pillar that connects the bag to the base is made of plastic. It broke, cracked horizontally almost in half, rendering the bag useless. That post or pillar is what flexes back and forth as the bag is punched.

OK, why do I say it's garbage? Nothing lasts forever, right? Though we actually owned it for several years it was hardly ever used. When it broke I'd estimate it received the equivalent number of hits that one hard 45 minute workout might see. ....and this from a teenage boy and middle-aged out-of-shape dad.

Adding insult to injury is the packaging they use is of a young adult male, ripped, buff and sweating from a workout. An image carefully chosen to convey the supposed incredible durability and ruggedness of this product. (As recently as early 2016 their packaging showed an even more muscular young adult boxer - who in reality would break this product in 4 or 5 punches.)

Based on other reviews, it's obvious this plastic post design (or perhaps too-brittle plastic formula composition)is the weak link; the Achilles heel of this product. Yet they keep selling it as-is to unsuspecting customers. This product as-is would be fine for a pre-pubescent child, but not a high-school age teenager or older adult. (That's not being sarcastic; this would be fine for a kid but they're marketing it to adults.)

But it gets better.
