Power and versatility top the list of features of the Power i-MIG 200. The new digital IGBT inverter design of the i-MIG welder reduces the weight and footprint of the unit making it truly portable. The dual voltage design allows the unit to be used about anywhere a receptacle is present. This unit packs more features than any MIG welder in its class. Dual digital displays feature both volt and amp readouts allowing the operator to make precise and repeatable adjustments to the parameters. The stick function adds an extra dimension of versatility and performance when a MIG welder isn't needed or practical. The Arc force control controls manages the arc characteristics in both MIG and Stick modes. In MIG mode, it controls current rise time, affecting puddle fluidity, bead contour, and penetration. In stick mode the arc force control behaves as a DIG control function and improves arc performance in short arc situations. Automatic Preflow and Postflow control improves weld quality during stops and starts helping to reduce porosity for high quality results. The new adjustable burn back control reduces trimming required so the wire is at the perfect length for each restart. When you consider all these features and performance, the all new Power i-MIG 200 is among the best you'll find in its class yielding professional level results. This is a really good welder at a not cheap, but fair, price compared to the other name brands.
Other info of note: It includes the 110VAC converter cable. I've chosen to run mine on 220 (Two hots and a Ground), but it will run well enough on 110VAC for thinner stuff. It includes a few tips, but you'll need to order more. And it also includes an extra wire feed wheel for the flux shielded wire. (I wish I would have known that before ordering what turned out to be an extra one). The feed mechanism is metal, and durably built.
Complaints? The knobs are analog, so the numbers tend to jump around when adjusting them. Don't expect to be able to increase wire speed by 1 inch per minute. The numbers tend to move in bigger jumps, but it's still very very tunable. It's long. Longer than the photos imply. It may fit on your average welding cart, but it's going to be big on it.
It includes an air regulator, hoses, etc. for attaching to a argon/CO2 gas tank.
It supports a feed gun and welding aluminum with aluminum wire, but Everlast is on drugs with regard to the pricing of their feed gun, and, to weld aluminum you need to run pure argon (which is only used for welding aluminum). So, 'it's possible', but not ideal for this machine.
The machine is DC only. It supports stick welding as well (I did buy some stick welding aluminum rods), but have not tested them or that function yet.
I purchased additional consumables for the gun on Amazon, I've found the following to fit and work well (copy and paste into Amazon search, for some reason the product linking isn't working):
10pk Contact tip 0.6 M6x25 mm .023" MD0008-06 (140.0008) Trafimet
10pk Contact tip 0.8 M6x25 mm .030" MD0008-08 (140.0059) Trafimet
Trafimet MC0018 (5Pk) Nozzle EP 14&15 1/2" (145.0075)(WT501100AV)(334-164-400) (8220485)
Hobart 770074 Welding Mig Accessory Nozzle Gel
Hobart 770150 MIG Multi-Function Welding Pliers
So far, I've had zero problems, and have been continually pleased with the results from this machine.
Also, Veteran Everlast Protip: You can use a Small Block Chevy crank bolt washer to shim up the spool if it's a little sloppy. It works like a charm.
The welder has worked perfectly and I have no complaints.
