Fit: I am a 6'1" male with average size hands. The gloves are snug, but comfortable. It took a few sessions to break the gloves in.
Punching: These gloves offer my hands plenty of protection. I can punch much harder with these gloves than MMA gloves.
Durability: I have been using these gloves 1-3 times per week for approximately 20 minutes each session. In three months, there is very little sign of wear.
Value: Good gloves and price for basic cardio workouts with punching bags, mitts, and pads. If I was a serious boxer or martial artist, I would probably invest in something more professional.
Storage: These gloves smell awful. They have a strong gasoline-type odor. I felt sick inhaling the smell during my first two workouts. Three months later, the gloves still have the odor, but less pungent. I store the gloves in my garage because of the smell.
Conclusion: These affordable gloves are perfect for my home workouts, but beware of the gasoline odor (it will stink up the room). I hope you find this review helpful and you find a great set of gloves to meet your needs. Good luck punching stuff!
I know cancer doesn't have a smell unless you count cigarette smoke but it just smells so Cheap and like something that can really be hurtful to our health if you keep the gloves out in open space. Really strong fume guys but if you keep em packed in a bag and use them sparingly you will be fine!
So now its been about a month, and the stuffing keeps shifting about as i hit the bag. Perhaps this is normal, but you have to stop, strike the sides of the gloves to rearrange the filling.....not a huge issue, but will likely only progress.
I see there are some gel filled ones available, which will be the replacement.
OK it has been a month and I now have the PROTEX2 gel gloves. I will never wear these cheapies again. Actually, I now regret purchasing them in the first place. Please head over to the PROTEX2 page, spend the extra money. These are your hands we are dealing with! It would be like running a 10K in Chuck Taylor sneakers. Doable, but why risk the injury?
