When Marston Rowe first laid eyes on Brinley Knox he immediately wanted her. But he was the delinquent hired help and she was the spoiled daughter of one of Orchid Valley’s wealthiest families. Together they thought they could beat the odds but life didn’t work out the way they planned. When Marston spots Brinley across a crowded Las Vegas nightclub, his heart is right back where it was ten years ago the last time he saw her. And when Brinley is willing to give Marston one night, he’s hoping he can turn it into something more.
This story is told in alternating POVs between Brinley and Marston as well as flashback chapters to eleven years ago when the pair first met. I liked getting to spend time in both characters' heads and I really liked the flashback chapters detailing how they got together. I will say the flashback chapters only cover from their first meeting until the point where they enter into a relationship, so this novella does not go into why they broke up ten years ago which will likely be covered in the first book in the series.
Every Little Promise takes place over the course of one night, so we don’t get a lot of time spent on Marston and Brinley’s relationship, but what we do get is fantastic. Their romance is a second chance story which is one of my favorite types of romances. I loved the scene where the two saw each other for the first time in ten years as I thought the author did a great job showing the characters’ reactions. One thing that quickly became apparent was that the pair were definitely still attracted to one another. Their chemistry is amazing and the author writes several steamy scenes between the two that are fantastically done.
My only complaint about this book is somewhat of a spoiler. I don't want to give away what it is but it has to do with Brinley keeping something from Marston which I did not like at all. However it is likely something that won't other everyone, so someone else may not mind the story element.
Other than the one issue I had with the story, I really enjoyed Every Little Promise and I am really looking forward to the first full-length book, Every Little Piece of Me, that concludes Brinley and Marston’s story. I highly recommend reading this novella before the first book as it provides some excellent backstory.
When I fell in love with Brinley Knox, she was the spoiled daughter of the wealthiest family in Orchid Valley. I was the troublemaker orphan, brought to town to find the straight and narrow.
She was the homecoming princess. I was the hired help.
She was the perfect daughter. I was the cautionary tale.
We were young enough to think we could beat the odds. Naïve enough to think the world would make room for true love. Neither of us was prepared for the bitter cold of reality.
I haven’t seen her for ten years. Until tonight.
Face-to-face with a woman who should be a stranger, I recognize the heart of the girl I never stopped loving.
She’s giving me one night. I’m betting everything on making it more.
Freaking loved this prequel! This book goes back and forth between the past and the present when Brinley and Marston met. I feel like their story is just being! I can't wait to read Every little piece of me.
I loved that Lexi wrote this book. It provided a lot of insight into how Brinley and Martson first met as teens and how ten years later they reconnected in Vegas. Brinley grew up in a mansion, her parents were wealthy. Martson was the bad boy, new to town, worked for Brinley’s family. Two people who shouldn’t be together. Now, Martson is doing well for himself and nothing like the boy he used to be when Brinley first met him.
I LOVED the chemistry between these two. There was an instant connection and throughout their ten years apart neither of them could forget the other and still had so much chemistry.
I can’t wait to see where their story goes in Every Little Piece of Me because I definitely have some questions that need to be answered after reading this one!

And then I saw that Every Little Promise was released for free and I knew had to get it.
I want to say a huge, great big thank you to Lexi Ryan for pulling me out of my slump with the start of Marston and Brinley’s story. I absolutely loved it and I really can’t wait to read more of their story in Every Little Piece of Me on the 19th May! 😍😍
Brinley Knox and Marston Rowe are perfect. So right together and so many feelings. Loved it!
