You have to feel for the guy though. He left his family and girlfriend, joining the military to make a better life for their future. Then, he is captured, tortured and held prisoner for over a year while his family is told that he was killed. When he finally makes it back home, he has lost one of his legs, his girlfriend has moved on with someone else, and she doesn't come back to him.
This is a story of survival and the horrific scars (mental and physical) that he has to deal with. He has to deal with his mother's MS and is terrified that he will lose her as well. When he finally meets Elania, he is taken by surprise, since she looks nothing like Arion and he actually 'feels' something for her. Of course he wants sex, but with her he wants even more. Again, LK kept me on the edge of my seat and I could hardly put the book down long enough to eat or go to the bathroom. Although this is the third book in this series, it can be read alone.
