I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written detective thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great detective thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

Stolen property, a fugitive running from the law, and a murder/suicide all make up the gory details of this dramatic story. Then there is the case of two missing teenagers and it is clear that Detective Crombie has got his work cut out for him.
Although most of the characters in the book are not my type of people (for obvious reasons) I really did get into the author’s cheeky style of writing and the inner workings of deranged individuals.
The story unfolds in a clever, complex corkscrew of clues and conundrums. The female characters are particularly strong and well drawn and will keep you guessing until the end. We don't know who to believe - everybody lies.
Thoroughly recommended - here's hoping Julia will write another soon, with the intriguing McKay as a central character again.
