I'm at the start of my Asperger's journey with my oldest daughter, age 8, and I found this short book informative, comforting, and encouraging. The author has a Christian worldview which points her back to the Savior in her darkest moments. I especially appreciated the phrase she used throughout the book, "Just because it is hard, doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong." She takes time to identify and dispel lies that moms (esp special needs moms) believe. It was so refreshing to see them in print as she took them down one by one. Well done! I also smiled several times throughout the chapter on general parenting tips. Shawna Wingert strikes me as a person who would be an instant friend and confidant. I recommend this book as a great value and starting point for anyone on the autism spectrum journey.
