Editorial Reviews

Review

This is a book that will change the way you live your life. Everyday Legacy is something you can read over and over, and get something new from it every single time―there are so many bits of wisdom that I was constantly highlighting the pages and nodding my head in agreement. Reading it made me reconsider the way I think and make choices, so that I am personally living the legacy I want to leave. Codi Shewan has hit a home run, and I can’t wait to see all the lives he will change with his book. Everyone needs to hear this message, and live by it.
Chris Ruden, Motivational Speaker and Season 1 Competitor on Titan Games with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Limb Different/Amputee

I put Everyday Legacy down and thought: “how on earth did a book that told me to think about my death get me so excited to go out and live?” But that’s what it did, and that’s why you should read it.
Drew Dudley, Internationally bestselling author of This is Day One: A Practical Guide to Leadership That Matters

About the Author

“A legacy is something you live, not what you leave behind.” So believes Codi Shewan, who spent two decades working in the death-care profession, until in 2014 he leapt from an executive position in corporate funeral services to the entrepreneurial world. As a consultant and speaker, he’s on a mission to redefine “legacy” as something that you personify, each day of your life: you can realize the power of your own positive influence while you’re still here. He is also the founder of From Strangers To Family, an experience which helps people feel connected, in an often disconnected world.

5.0 out of 5 stars The power of pause // the power of ego
By Jeffrey Akers on October 25, 2020
After reading 10+ leadership books of all sorts through the past year, I became motivated to turn my words into action, motivated to become more but there would come times I just wasn’t up it. He spoke on the need to ‘Pause’ and it made me really take a step back and see that I don’t need to consistently work, that it’s okay to enjoy the little things.

Codis book also talks on Ego and it hit me hard that I was not here to leave a legacy; rather, I was here to live a legacy.

I’ve learned that the things I do and the experiences I have are a part of that legacy and that can only happen when I let go of the ego that tells me i’m not good enough or that i’m not meant for what I desire.

Super good read, left me with much to ponder on. If you’re looking for another book, I suggest this one!
