As a US West-coaster, I found this book did just the trick when traveling my long-haul flight to Paris. A place I had visited before but so delighted to have an 'insider' view about the city, the people, what to wear, what to eat, what to drink, and most importantly, WHY the city buzzes as it does and why Parisians act as they do. Even if you have been to Paris for many a visit, whether tourist, visitor, short-term-stayer, or hopeless Francophile, this book will be a juicy tidbit you are smug to have picked up.

An insiders look into traveling to Paris and not floundering like a tourist. Entertaining and informative. We just traveled to Paris, and while I'm certain we weren't able to pass as Parisian in all instances, Everyday Paris helped us FEEL more Parisian. A must read for anyone intending to travel to Paris, step outside their domestic bubble, and explore & experience this amazing city with as much authenticity as possible.

Everyday Paris initiates travelers into the rituals of Parisian life.

It felt like a close Parisian friend confiding to me not only the "wheres" of Paris, but the detailed "whys" of all aspects of Parisian life: dining, wine, history, local habits and traditions.

It is a refreshing approach---a reconfiguration of traditional travel writing that transcends city guides and travel blogs.

Everyday Paris is designed to be used, not just read.

Fantastic! A witty and insightful guide to uncovering the plethora of hidden gems that Paris has to offer. The inviting tone seems more like a collection of recommendations from a friend than a tourist-centric travel guide. Highly enjoyable and great to skim through on the Eurostar over - a definite must for those planning their next visit to beautiful Paris.

Although I read this book nowhere near Paris, it left me longing to walk the streets and take in the sites that are indeed off the beaten path. It left me with an understanding as to "why" Parisians do what they do rather than just a narrative about "what" happens around the wonderful city. I have been to Paris many times but I honestly can't wait to get back with this book in hand. I can honestly say that it will leave me viewing Paris with a new set of eyes and, hopefully, find new adventures in a city that seems to have been trampled smooth by tireless tourist feet.

A must read for the traveller/visitor that wants to understand Paris and the Parisians rather than just see what everyone else has seen. I cannot wait to go and get lost!
