Editorial Reviews

Review

"A remarkable autobiography ... the feel good story of the year." The Christian Science Monitor on Life is So Good

"Dawson has become a literary hero, a testament to the power of perseverance." USA TODAY

About the Author

Richard Glaubman is the author of Life Is So Good (Penguin) a remarkable story of George Dawson, a slave's grandson who learned to read at 98 and lived to the age of 103. The book, a true story of Mr. Dawson's life, is replete with wonderful stories of a generous man's inner and outer life. He reflects on his life and shares valuable lessons in living as well as a fresh, first hand view of America during the entire sweep of the 20th century. Richard Glaubman is also the author of More Than A Book: A Story of Friendship. Narrated by Richard, this book recounts to both men after Dawson's life story was published. During their time together on a national book tour, despite differences in age, race, and education, the friendship begun in a humble kitchen in South Dallas, grew even stronger.
