With excitement and anticipation I dove into EVERYTHING I LEFT UNSAID. Unfortunately, despite some interesting secondary characters, namely Ben and Joan, within a few chapters I soon realized that Annie and Dylan’s peculiar intimate relationship wasn’t going to work for me. Let me explain. Annie is fleeing an abusive husband and vows to never bow down to any man ever again. Fresh start, a million possibilities. But, what does she do straight away? With one chance phone call, she willingly falls into another controlling relationship with a strange man who, over a series of heated conversations that include masturbation, dictates rules for how they will interact. He then goes on to command her to do a variety of sexual “tasks” that she must complete before she can call him again. Her obedience is eventually rewarded with phone sex. If that isn’t a toxic and red-flag-filled relationship, I don’t know what is.

And, as for the author’s overuse and reliance on phone sex? One spicy phone scene in an erotic romance can be great, staging the majority of the sexual encounters between the central couple over the phone only? For some readers this may be the hottest fantasy fulfillment in years, but, for me, it was timid, repetitively anti-climatic, disconnected and frustrating.

At the very end of the novel, they do meet and have some moderately good skin-on-skin sex, but, by then, it was’t enough to rescue the novel for me. Instead, Annie remained weak and tragic in this entire mess and Dylan became more disrespectable, unscrupulous and unappealing. And a cliffhanger? Pass.

The beginning of the book was very good. A women who ran away from an abusive husband, Found a place to live, work to do and looked to begin a new life and survive. Then finding the phone and the contact by Dylan. Still a good read, Then it became an abusive relationship in another way. Can't think of a women who would do this after the life she fled. But kept going, rarely do I stop reading a book before it's done. I began to realize that this was another sequel book. Tired of authors stretching out one book into several. I am one of those people who like a beginning, middle and end. The only reason I can see to do this is financial. Just write another book!

I LOVED IT!

I had NO idea what to expect when I started reading.
And I was positively surprised.
The story had everything I need in my sexy romances.
SEXY MOMENTS
Well - they're not those kinds of sexy moments. At the beginning it's only very erotic phone sex.
Then we have cute, moving, sad, suspensy and mysterious moments!
Just perfect.
It was so different to other romances.
Dylan and Annie don't meet for almost the whole book (well, not really, but I won't tell you how long it takes for them to meet face to face ☺). They just talk on the phone - have phone sex!!! Oy! Very sexy - I wish this was an audio book, spoken by a guy with a reallllly sexy Dylan-voice!

And next to all that sexy talking we constantly think about what happened to our two darlings, and what will happen and why this and why that and who and where and when and grrrrrrr - I just want them to finally meet and get their HEA!!!!

But I guess we'll have to wait a bit for our HEA ... I don't think Annie's ex will let her be happy on her own and whatever happened in Dylan's past will probably come calling too...

I can't wait to find out how this story will end!!!!

► EVERYTHING I LEFT UNSAID was an extremely erotic and moving & exciting & mysterious romance. About secrets, about the past & the future, about fear and hope, about family, new friends .... and new beginnings!!! ☺

Now please hurry November ..... I NEEEEED to know how Annie & Dylan's story will end!

PS - yup - Cliffhanger - but book #2 will be out soon!!!!

I was really enjoying this book and was sooo into it I did not notice the % left in the book when suddenly it ended in a major cliffhanger! I was so bummed. I hate it when there isn't a notice that this is not a complete book so I'm warning everyone ahead of time.

This book isn't anything like what I usually read, but it was getting so much hype, I clicked on it out of curiosity, and the free sample totally hooked me. So...wow. It was REALLY good. It's a really unusual concept (the hero and heroine don't meet until near the end of the book, they only talk on the phone) and deals with lots of dark issues, but it was just so well written and compelling, I literally could not put it down, and I can't wait to read the second part when it comes out next month!

Annie and Dylan meet over the phone because Annie moves into a trailer and there is already a phone there, so when it rings, she answers. Annie is starting over, having left her life before behind her and not only is she seeking a new beginning, but also a new version of herself. The safety of meeting Dylan over the phone, but knowing it won't transpire into anything, gives Annie some added bravado to try new-to-her adventures that she previously wouldn't attempt. As for Dylan, he enjoys the distraction of knowing Annie without having to divulge about who he really is and explain his life to her. At the same time, he's very encouraging of Annie to branch out.

I was definitely intrigued by their relationship, for two people who had never met in person but bonded over conversation. There's chemistry between them, too, but both of them have their walls up because they have their own secrets to protect. Not to mention that Annie has somewhat of a sheltered and conditioned personality in general. This is her first opportunity to be independent and to explore her own personal desires rather than following the instructions of another person. As Annie observes the lives of others around her, namely her neighbors, she's witnessing firsthand how things aren't always what they appear and starts to form her own opinions.

I couldn't wait for the opportunity to come up where Dylan and Annie would eventually have to meet face to face. It's a complicated situation all around and I am interested to see how it pans out because the past that they are both trying to bury will most certainly resurface and impact them. When the secrets come to light and there's no barriers between them, will Dylan and Annie have a chance at saving each other? There's still so much more to learn about both characters so I'm looking forward to finding out the rest of their story.
