good recipes, however, many of them are complex and/or require pre-work, all of which are downers when you are looking for easy recipes (in my opinion, slow-cooker recipes should be easy to facilitate easy dinner prep for working people). if you don't mind complicated recipes or increased prep time this can be ok for you. also, many of the recipes are in the slow cooker for <6 hours which would be challenging if you work a full workday.

I saw this book in a local bookstore and my interest was piqued by the title. What could a crockpot really make aside from a stew or the classic Jewish cholent? Sure enough, though, this book contains recipes for all sorts of sauces, side dishes, hot mains, and even a section on breakfast food (e.g a French toast pudding recipe that looked delicious). The recipes seemed creative but not inaccessible to the layman cook.
As far as the cookbook's appearance, I was a bit disappointed - this is a soft-cover book with black-and-white pages, with some color photos contained in a separate center section. This detracts from its visual and entertainment appeal and also makes it seem less durable. However, it seems like a good, solid source for delicious and kosher slow cooker recipes!
This would make a good Chanuka or birthday gift for the Jewish working woman in your life.

Has some great recipes and some that are good. I have a bunch of crock pots, and one thing I like to do is to put my main dish on hours ahead of time, especially on Shabbat. You can use a timer to turn it off.

This book saved me sooooo much stress when I returned back to work after having my son, but still needed healthy, Kosher meals to feed my family when I got home at night! So many wonderful recipes! I could not ask for more!

I was disappointed that many recipes require prior cooking methodologies. I thought the point was to just dump all the ingredients in the slow cooker and walk away till it's done?! Also, some of the kosher information is simply incorrect. Why don't people have editors before they publish cookbooks?

It's a great cookbook but we wished that it would of had more variety of recipes. We just felt that there could of been more creativity with using a slow cooker and concepts on how to be able to create your own 'pot' of food along with unique twists.

This was a great cookbook. It was easy to cook with, because it called for easy to find ingredients. The recipes were tasty also, and turned out well.
