It's been a huge privilege to read this book and I can only highly recommend this author. Kate Smith's writing style is superb and this is an extraordinarily moving, beautifully written story you should definitely add to your TBR list.

It is written so it seems we know exactly how and why Savannah is behaving like some weird kid around the doctor she's just encountered and the speech in no way rings true at all. She's on some school trip when an accident occurs so that's how she meets him, then as she takes her leave of him, she asks, "Could I come back and ask you some questions ? You know, about being a doctor ?" Huh ??? WHY, would be the first thing I'd want to know !!! She's 14 and to my knowledge wasn't on any medical-related school jaunt ! He's a stranger and she's in a strange town.
Then they meet for coffee and we're to believe she's suddenly encountered her biological father. I knew the synopsis details this BUT there's no lead-up, we learnt zip about either Aiden or Savannah before we were thrust into this scene !!
I hate leaving one star reviews but it really needs to be rebadged. If I was around 13 I guess it would've been the perfect age-range.
I hadn't seen any mistakes by the time I gave up on it, however, which is always something I'm happy about and merits a mention.
huge rollercoaster from start fo finish and would reccomend to anyone looking fof something a bit different.
gave me a fault in our stars vibe.
by the end i felt i had really conected with the characters and i coldng stop sobbing.
a box of tissues is a must for reading this, cant wait to continue this series soon.
