Editorial Reviews

Brace yourself for a triple dose of terror and comedy, delivered in three harrowing tales fraught with fright, presented by Director, Steve Rahaman. As we venture into the lives of various characters, we first encounter Alan Malone (Daniel Girace), a desperate man whose luck has finally run out. Having resorted to robbing a liquor store, what begins as a routine robbery soon turns into the most terrifying night of his life. In chapter two, we come across Matthew Koons (Matthew Murphy), whose perfect life is about to come to an abrupt halt as the horrific secret he s been hiding comes back to haunt him forever. Culminating in chapter three, the story of Henry (David Margulis), is one of a man locked in a marriage laded with hatred and disgust. When an argument suddenly stems into violence, Henry must face his mistake to the bitter end.

This is a watchable little creepshow split into three vignettes, each telling a self-contained story. Clearly filmed on a dime, the make-up and production values still stand out. Writing and direction are competent, if not above average for this genre. Acting is about what you would expect, but it is clear that some of the players will go on to achieve better work if they keep at it. As the reviewer above me noted, it is obvious that the people who made this CARED about the work, even if they were perhaps too close to the project to see its flaws. (Uneven pacing, some stilted dialogue, etc.) That's more than one can say about most of the $#*% that gets churned out of Hollywood these days. Runs a little long, but worth your time, especially if you want to see a project that's off the beaten path, made by someone who aspires to do good work. I love little indie projects like this, so I was glad to run across it. I hope the director/producer/writer continues to make movies because there's some real promise here.

Three short stories made on a shoe-string budget. The first story reminds me of J-Horror, the second has kind of a DePalma feel to it, and the final short actually reminds me of a Tale From The Crypt episode. Not a bad watch; creepy at times and amusing at others. You can really sense the passion the director and performers have for their work. Recommended for those who want to see how an independent horror movie should be made and produced for little or no backing.
