The Casefiles series is a more grown up Hardy Boys novel and is aimed a teenager rather than the pre-teen that the main series is targeted to. With that in mind, "Evil, Inc" is not a bad Hardy Boys book. It is fast paced, filled with action and danger, and should be interesting enough for a younger reader. It shows the evolution of the Hardys (at least in the Casefiles series) after the murder of Iola Morton ("Dead on Target") and how the brother now seek cases across the globe. "Evil, Inc" is one of the early novels showing this.
The book tells the story of Frank and Joe who go to Paris on a vacation. During their trip they get caught by an organized crime ring called Reynard and Company, who put Frank and Joe in a machine that will crush them. A woman named Denise, who worked for Reynard and Company, felt sorry for Frank and Joe and she was able to stop the machine and save them from death. Then all three of them ran to a beach and they split up so it would be easier to escape. The bad men Pierre, Maurice and Y'ves chased after Frank, Denise and Joe with guns, but they ended up dying! Paul Reynard jumped out of a helicopter and knocked the pistols away from Frank and Joe. He made them go to the top of a sand dune where he was going to shoot them, but they were able to shoot him first killing him and shutting down his crime ring.
Frank and Joe returned home and were excited to begin their next mission!
