In And Evil Shall Come, the author crafts a story on intrigue and terror using his knowledge of the potential effects of biological agents as weapons of mass destruction. He received his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland College of Medicine and taught at the medical schools of the universities of Florida and Vermont before coming to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons becoming professor of microbiology and pathology. A reserve officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, he helped establish Disaster Medical Assistance Teams and lectured on biological weapons to U.S. Navy personnel. Dr. Ellner was a legal consultant in infectious disease testifying as an expert witness in many cases. Previous non-fiction books include Understanding Infectious Disease and The Biomedical Scientist As Expert Witness.

About the Author

Sixteen years ago, Paul Ellner became blind due toage-related macular degeneration, but that hasn't stopped him from living afull life, even at 93 years young.  Afterretiring from a varied and successful career, he turned to writing fiction, andpublished several novels, available on Amazon.He recently began blogging and enjoys keeping in touch with his readerson social media.
Before losing his vision, Ellner led a fascinatinglife.  After completing three years ofmedical school at the University of Maryland College of Medicine for his Ph.D., Dr. Ellner resolved to spend his life in medical academia. He held teachingpositions at the new medical school at the University of Florida, the medicalschool of the University of Vermont, and at Columbia University's College ofPhysicians and Surgeons, where he spent twenty-six years eventually becomingProfessor of Microbiology and Pathology. On four occasions, the medicalstudents voted him"Teacher of the Year" and"OutstandingLecturer."  At the same time,he  was the Director of the ClinicalMicrobiology Service at the Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital. In 1992, hereceived the prestigious Sonnenwirth Award for Leadership in ClinicalMicrobiology in the U.S.
Shortly after receiving his doctorate, he accepted acommission as a reserve officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, where he roseto the naval rank of Captain.  Dr. Ellnerwas tasked with establishing Disaster Medical Assistance Teams in New York andNew Jersey, and also lectured on biological weapons to U.S. Navy personnel.Several times, he was called for periods of temporary active duty.
When Ellner retired from Columbia, he worked as a legalconsultant in infectious disease, testifying as an expert witness in manycases.
