From Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within 2 takes the acclaimed franchise to a new level with its unique blend of psychological thrills and true survival horror. Sebastian Castellanos has lost everything, including his daughter, Lily. To save her, he's forced to partner with Mobius, the shadowy group responsible for the destruction of his former life. For his last chance at redemption, the only way out is in.

The combat is poorly done. Melee combat is just bad so forget about that. I don't think I played a game in the last 15 years with worse combat. The closing thing to it is the combat in The Last of US but even that is better.
They reuse to many of the models. For the normal grunts there is only one girl model and two or three dudes. Since you see these guys all over the place it gets kind of boring seeing the same thing over and over. In the new resident evil game all the zombies are unique. If they had more models they could add some racial diversity to the mix also. just having some different models would be ok also even if they are the same race.
The game doesn't have a save anywhere which only caused me problems once. The check point system works well but save anywhere would have been better or really there is no reason not to have both save systems.
I say give it a buy at $15 or cheaper.
One of the things I really enjoyed about this sequel was the open world feel that EW2 brings to the game. You play in a town called Union that serves as the main hub for different areas that you travel to in order to progress the story. There are side missions that are optional to the story, and you have to really decide if going into an area is worth it if you are low on ammo.
Overall, a very satisfying experience. I’ve been playing survival horror games for a while, and I really feel like this game is a standout.
Run out of bullets? No problem, getting bullets in this game, is just as easy as snapping your fingers.
I give this game a 4 out of 5. I enjoy the game, but this game should have a different title. This is not Evil Within.
I have a massive gaming pc, and this game has severe fps drops. This game doesnt hold a solid 60fps. I have 2x Titan x Pascal for crying out loud. Terrible optimization
Couple things with this disc version. The full game IS NOT included on disc. You must register the code to a Steam account (included in the case) and, if you choose, install a portion of the game from the disc or fully install it from Steam. Makes no difference which way you do it.
The game is marked up to $40, so buying it cheap physical may be a better option in some cases. Or just wait til its on sale.
The reCaptcha kept giving me grief until I closed out all that nonsense and used my old login info on Steam.
