The crazy thing is that the game is very hard from beginning to chapter 10 after that it is easy!
The game has one of the best beginnings if not the best in video game history, which is you hanging upside down and waking up while the sadist is taking off the hook some guy and butchering him while you watch,if that’s not scary I don’t know what is,then when you start running trying to get away from the sadist has your adrenaline pumping on max!
The story seems convoluted but you have to play and the main story and the DLC to understand the whole story and let me tell you it’s a fascinating story that will also prepare you for the evil within 2 which is much more player friendly and not half as hard!
PS:play the game smart don’t try to kill everyone and also upgrade your running that is a game changer.
[The Item]: I am a HUGE horror geek and I've never jumped from a movie or game until now! Even this has made me JUMP sometimes! The storyline in this game is vaguely intriguing and kept me interested! The graphics are meh but they're decent for the price that you're paying for the game. I bought this years ago and I would buy it again! I have played the 2nd one that came out because I am still terrified from the 1st!
[Conclusion]: if you like an intriguing storyline that tantalizes you, then purchase this! You won't regret it! Plus you really cant beat the price either!

The first level sees you limping around a chainsaw murderer in the dark hospital which isn't particularly scary because he has awful vision and I avoided death by running from him then stopping where upon your character arches forwards a little and unwillingly ducks the chainsaw attack. I did this like 12 times in a row and with that any horror that could have been was lost. After that the game world just sort of, wobbles and then you appear in a new area with your various guns and must shoot your way through the monsters. There is stealth, the kind in which all enemies immediately know where you are if so much as one milometer of your bum comes slightly out of cover, you know the bad kind of stealth and there are character upgrades, none of which effect stealth so was all know its true roll don't we, it's just there because why not. The combat was a chore, you can hold very little ammo and that doesn't lead to the tense survival horror the game wants because each enemy is as threatening as a baked bean and they can be easily beaten to death, in fact gameplay as a whole is just week. Functional, mostly but never the less involving.
The games plot feels like a book whose pages where randomly shuffled, the characters seem to have varying knowledge about the happenings throughout the game and I'm sure on of your guys mentions the name of the villein before anyone's even told them it yet. I'm still not eternally sure what happened and i know I could just look it up but to be honest I refuse to put more effort in than the developers did.
The Evil Within fails on every level, it isn't scary and I nearly caked my pants with the force of a shotgun blast at the sight of my shadow a week ago so it's not like I don't scare easily, the problem here really is that it is just not scary. The combat didn't save the game and the story is aweful so what is there to recommend about the game because it isn't even on the level of awful as say, Sharknado which is terrible but lovable for its awfulness. Playing it was a chore and there was no sense of payoff, a lot of effort to end up absolutely nowhere.
Considero que es un juego difícil, es bastante complejo y toma un tiempo adaptarse a las funciones del personaje y sus mejoras, pero con el paso del tiempo me encantó.
