Rating: 3 for the mystery, 5 for the humor.
How would you feel if your husband was murdered just before your divorce? Well, imagine if he came back as a ghost and was attatched to you and you were the only one who could see or hear him. Then along comes a high school classmate who can also see and talk to him!! Then, she is charged with her soon to be ex-husband’s murder. Wouldn’t you do all you can to help prove she is innocent? Yep, that’s exactly what Amanda faces in this installment of Sally Berneathy’s Charlie’s Ghost. It’s a crazy sometimes scary romp trying to find the real killer with a very annoying ghost attatched to it. I love the way Sally can pull her readers into the middle of the story line and make them feel like they are right there in the book. Can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I would recommend this book to those that enjoy a touch of paranormal and humor in their mysteries, to YA and to readers who enjoy strong female lead characters in unconventional professions.
I rarely give a 5 star rating, so 4 stars is quite high from me. I immediately buy the newest book in the series when I notice it has been released.
In this one she reconnects with an old school mate who turns out to more of friend than she ever thought. Seems she can see Charley too. Won't go any further as I don't want spoil it for you but if you were a fan of books 1&2 you will enjoy three.
If you haven't read the first two I suggest reading them in order. While she give a fair amount of background they are just more enjoyable when read in order as they build on each other. I always enjoy Ms. Berneathy's work and this was no exception will be looking forward to the next book in the series.
