Heading to a buggy zone? The BugsAway Damselfly is the lightest-weight, highest-coverage top you'll find. An airy mesh with woven panels, its drawcord hood, cinchable hem, and elastic-bound sleeves are uninviting to bugs, and the whole garment stuffs into the left front security pocket for easy packing.

The material is a mesh design and I was initially very skeptical about it keeping the mosquitoes away from me, but it did the trick. Thankfully, it doesn't add much in the way of heat due to the mesh design which in the hot humid summer weather would have been miserable, and on really hot days, I just wore a sports bra under it and nothing else. I wish the sleeves were a little longer and that the hood had a drawstring to pull the hood tight around my face, but otherwise, I LOVE this jacket! It improved my trip immeasurably to know that I didn't have to lather up in bug spray just to go outside for a quick errand and could sit at the night campfire without getting eaten alive. I told all of my neighbors at the lake about the jacket and pants and I would recommend them to everyone and anyone who lives with the irritation of mosquitoes. There was no smell when I took it out of the package and the material isn't itchy or oily - in fact the only way anyone knew the material was anything unusual was because I kept telling them how great it was.
It says it's good for 70 washes, but I really haven't had any reason to wash it yet after a few months. I bought mine for casual every day wear when hanging out in my yard. I have great fear of ticks as a recovering late stage critical Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, + survivor. I also hate and wanted to prevent mosquito bites. The first night I wore this was at dusk, it was humid, and after a heavy rain. My dog and best friend sat beside me. Mosquitoes were flying all around them, and my friend got bit a few times. They flew near me, but didn't get any closer than 6".
The material and fit! AND THE AMAZING HOOD SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR WOMEN. This jacket weighs nothing and could quite literally fit in your pocket. It is almost completely mesh, very little solid material. So you could wear it in the heat, but is also just enough to cut a slight evening chill. If you are worried about size, don't sweat it too much. Being mesh, it has a comfortable amount of stretch. I bought a M(8-10) (which is what is exactly as written on the tag. I was a bigger 12 and losing weight. I am a 6 now and it's still a perfect fit. But the best part ladies? The hood. As you zip up the jacket, you can tuck your hair- and there's room for a lot of it!- into the nape and stretchy hood. Then zip it the rest of the way up- which you can then tuck your chin in- and then!! There is a zip cord at the back of the head that you can tighten, and then a ring of the solid material edging around the face to have the most minimum exposure. NOTHING will be able to crawl your hair. Like spiders at night or anything falling out of trees. The Amazon price seems high, but retail is close to double. Once you get this, you will love it enough that ya would've paid double.
Edited based on another customer's question: for the second picture, I put my hand in the sleeve, to demonstrate that the mesh fabric will not be waterproof
