UPDATE: FALL 2016 .... found much cheaper way to worm multiple dogs - use Safe-guard fenbenzadole - goat wormer - same exact medicine - packaged cheaper to "farmers" instead of dog lovers ....- but liquid instead of powder - different dosage... and you need a 1 cc syringe for a small dog or puppy (ebay) or a larger syringe (walmart $3.00 - 2 TB - syringe) : google for exact dog dosage - but one bottle $22 - wormed five adult dogs 2x and four puppies 2x..........has long shelf life to Found it on youtube - saved me a lot of money - as I was paying around $10 per dog for this powdered form. So even if you only have one or two dogs - the goat wormer form is much cheaper! I think shelf life is 3 years ? .... and it is at least recommended to worm every 6 months. It is bitter tasting .... but mixed with canned dog food my dogs ate it .... plus puppies took it straight with a syringe (but one wasn't crazy over the taste)

We raised a littler of puppies and discovered that the little puppies all had worms in their feces. After the initial disgust of seeing worms in their feces, I did a little research and discovered Safe-guard Canine Dewormer. Its active ingredients kills nearly all types of the most prevalent worms found in canines. I was confident that it would be a good choice to start with because I was not positive what type of worms the puppies' had. To my satisfaction, it worked quickly within 3 days and the puppies' were worm free!
The deworming medication comes in little packets and is a fine white powder. The instructions state that 1 gram should be used per 10lbs of weight for your dog. Since my puppies were all in the 4-6 pound range, I measured out the correct amount by carefully pouring the deworming powder into teaspoon measuring spoons. This worked really well to ensure that I was giving each puppy the correct amount over 3 consecutive days. After measuring out the right amount, I simply mixed it in with wet/soft dog food that I knew the puppies loved, rolled the food into little balls, and then hand fed each puppy the "deworming food ball". It worked like a charm =)! 3 days later, all my puppies were worm free and I did not notice any digestive issues. I followed the same process two weeks later, as the instructions state, to ensure that any residual worm eggs are killed as well.
Excellent deworming medicine that works quickly, efficiently, and is easy to mix in dog food. I highly recommend this dewormer.
