I originally purchased this book as a gift, thinking it was too "babyish" for my 2 1/2 yr. old. But he saw it and loved it! The words are so simple to read and understand that it has become a great learning tool as he begins to focus on the letters and sounds of words. Great pictures and great ideas. It's really helped him understand how, when and why to say things like "excuse me or thank you."

This is one of two board books by Karen Zatz we bought for our 12 month old baby. The book is very easy to read with short questions like "You burped, what do you say"? When you open the flap there is a bright, fun picture & the words "Excuse Me" written inside. My child loves to be read to & responded well to this book at a young age.

our 20 month old daughter LOVES the Karen Katz "lift the flap" books, and this one was no exception, EXCEPT that this book is physically cheaper quality and less robust - after only about 2 weeks, this one was pretty much destroyed. It's much less robust than "where's baby's mommy" and "where's baby's bellybutton", our other two Karen Katz books.

Very cute children's book that teaches manners! This was an important purchase for me as I would like to instill good manners in my son & this book demonstrates appropriate situations for these manners to be tested out on. Great pictures as well.

This is a book in the adorable Karen Katz- style, but I have to agree with other reviewers who admonished that this book is legitimizing bad behavior. It has the children say "no, thank you" to healthy food and "yes, please" to unhealthy sweets. Though I see, that on part of the author it may be difficult to decide whether to go with the unfortunate reality of things or state an example and advocate the right thing to do - apparently I would have preferred the author to have chosen the latter.

After reading this book several times everyday, I have it completely memorized from front to back. But my 3 year old loves this book, and has for a long time.

She especially loves lifting up the flaps, and I like that it's a fun, lighthearted book that includes good manners without being stiff or sounding instructional.

While I did not expect an exhaustive list of manners from this toddler book I did expect some of the basics including "yes ma'am/sir", "no ma'am/sir", please... The very first manner is a baby saying "no thank you" when mom offers offers peas while later responding with a "yes please" when daddy offers a candy. I just think they could have done better...

My 18 month old loves to read this book with me, and also reads it by herself. She knows the answers to all but one question, and loves to answer the questions even without the book. She requests this book at every bedtime, and several times throughout the day.
