There are 6 envelopes attached to the book itself. There are another 4 that are loose. It comes with a pen, a note pad, a clear plastic sleeve for coins, 5 slots for debit cards and a place for your check book.
I like how it forces you to organize yourself. I keep my checkbook and cash in it. However, it's very bulky. I don't actually carry it around with me, I don't like the idea of carrying that much cash around. I just take out what I need each day. It would probably work best for someone who carries a purse or briefcase.
It's a nice thing to have, but I probably would not have purchased it on it's own. You could probably build your own by getting an organizer from any place that sells school supplies.
This executive envelopes are to hold everything once you've made a budget, and the app and online version from Dave is pretty awesome and it's free.
This trifold is something you do not want to carry around all the time because, to state the obvious, it holds all your cash. It has 8 envelopes that are spiral bound and 4 loose ones. It also has a coin pouch and a pad of paper and pen. The binding itself is really nice. I wish the envelopes were a little bigger unless I get hundred dollar bills instead of twenties for my grocery budget. Also the lines are super small to write on. Overall, it will help.
I'm male. I don't have a purse that I carry with me, nor do I have a fanny pack, or some other device that would help me lug this huge "wallet" around with me. The wallet usually sticks out at least 2 inches from my back pocket, and is just not a good idea. If I was to follow the system that Dave lays out I would be carrying LOTS of cash in an EXPOSED position! NOT SMART! So, the other alternative is to put the wallet in your front pocket. This thing is probably 3 inches thick...which is not comfortable at all standing up, and good luck trying to sit down comfortably.
For ladies I think this wallet system would work perfectly. You could place this in your purse and it would be a great system for you to manage your finances with, but as a male it's just too bulky and unwieldy. Sorry guys! The system itself is intriguing, the packaging is what kills it. That's why I gave it a 2 (from a male perspective, from a female perspective it'd be around a 4).
Good luck with your financial goals! :)

This is a little large with the note pad inside so I had to take out the note pad but it's a great tool to keep on track with your envelope system. Read morePublished 2 days ago by Cat Lover
