“Full of fantastic activities & worksheets that focus on honing essential skills like time management, taking someone else’s perspective, flexible thinking, and developing grit.” --Janine Halloran, LMHC, author of Coping Skills for Kids Workbook
This well-written and insightful book helps educators and others by providing new strategies and tools to better understand and reach and teach students with neurobehavioral challenges. It empowers and connects teachers with fresh perspectives to better understand and engage students to promote academic successes. The many user-friendly worksheets are practical and fun, and will help students better know and challenge themselves to stretch and master the skills they need. This book will energize and inspire students and teachers. Highly recommended. -- Gene Carroccia, PsyD, Clinical Psychologist, author of Treating ADHD/ADD in Children and Adolescents
We have the technology, and we know icebergs are much bigger than they appear on the surface. Cindy Goldrich is an ADHD thought leader because she understands there is more to ADHD and executive functioning challenges than how they appear! She also understands the importance and power of connection and collaboration. Her book and training programs emphasize the importance of connection and collaboration to help teachers and professionals understand the invisible drivers that lead to success in helping those impacted by ADHD! --Jeff Copper, PCC, ADHD coach, host of Attention Talk Radio

About the authors

Cindy Goldrich, Ed.M., ADHD-CCSP, is a mental health counselor, certified ADHD Clinical Service Provider, and teacher trainer. As an ADHD Specialist, she supports parents, educators, and other professionals to address the impact of ADHD & Executive Functioning on learning, motivation, and behavior.
Her work as both a parent coach and a teacher trainer has given Cindy a unique viewpoint regarding how each group’s needs and perspectives impact the others. She has provided professional development and parent coaching to thousands of people across the country. I have worked with teachers, guidance counselors, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, social workers, school psychologists, paraprofessionals, and principals—educating them about the impact ADHD and executive function challenges have on students’ ability to access and utilize knowledge. As a parent coach, I’ve benefited from a behind-the-scenes view of the struggles parents and students often face as they work to manage school expectations. Incorporating the teachers’ perspective and constraints has allowed me to guide parents by providing realistic, useful feedback—as well as consulting—to effectively integrate teachers’ concerns and agendas. Working with both professionals and parents has allowed me to create a circle of support for all involved.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2020I am a huge fan of Cindy Goldrich's work with ADHD. I am a parent of a 12 year old boy who has truely suffered in school due to lack of education by school staff on ADHD/Executive Function Disorder. I bought this book both to inform the development of his IEP, and to prepare for the upcoming remote-learning school year. It is excellent - Cindy and Carly cover why a child with ADHD has struggles in certain areas (ie. challenges with feeling time, especially future events and how this effects innitiation and activation of certain tasks), and how exactly to support the development of these skills. As the author's say in the beginning of the book, there is a strong chance that due to the high prevelance of ADHD (nearly 10% of school-aged children have ADHD) there is most likely at least one child in every class who has it, yet teachers are (in my own experience) shockingly uneducated about it and how it manifests in academic and behavioral problems in classrooms. I highly recommend this book to both school staff and parents of children with ADHD! I have come out well ahead in helping my son after reading this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2019ADHD, Executive Function & Behavioral Challenges in the Classroom is a breath of fresh air. Finally, a book that speaks directly to teachers and addresses the confusion surrounding this topic. This guide for teachers is unique in its clarity and practicality, providing not only research-based explanations of the complex and variable presentations of ADHD and executive functions but a roadmap for addressing the related challenges in the classroom as well. The Goldriches include a plethora of activities for teachers to use in their classrooms to increase student self-awareness along with strategies for improvement. As a provider of professional development for educators on ADHD and Executive Function, I will definitely utilize this book in my courses. It answers many of the questions posed by teachers, including those new to the profession and long-time veterans of the classroom. Bravo!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2020I got this book yesterday, have already read it, and bought extra copies! I’m going to be gifting it to my son’s teacher each year going forward. This book is affirming to teachers, parents, and ADHD kiddos. Not only that, it is full of practical exercises and activities that can be very easily used at home and/or in school to build skills. This book makes me feel hopeful.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2020Great book. Enjoy learning how to help my students with ADHD. This book has a lot of great tips with helping students in areas that deal with executive functions. Wish I would have known about this book earlier in my career. Highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2022I was excited to find some new techniques to help my struggling students. The strategies suggested I feel could be effective with elementary grades. I do not feel these strategies would be helpful at a high school level.
