"[A] salty satire of a business guide.... The book makes a great gift for the legions of would-be retirees and provides laughter and relief from the anxieties of corporate culture." ---Publishers Weekly
From the Back Cover
If business is a hamster wheel, what kind of hamster do you want to be? The one who runs all day long, huffing and puffing to keep things turning? Or the sleek and happy rodent who works in the corner office down the hall? Stanley Bing has seen the way the big furballs operate in good times and bad.
Core skills taught in this book:
Telling people what to do and having them do it.
Operating from the digital vacuum.
Abuse of status
It can be done.
Even when confused.
But only when necessary.
Step off the wheel.
Grab this book.

I rated it well b/c it is well written, and I blame myself for not checking deeper to see that it was a humorous book. I was hoping for something similar to 4 Hour Work Week.
You will catch yourself many times, recognizing heaps of described scenarious performed by either your boss or a similar entity within your company (If it's big enough).
What Stanley describes, and what actually really happens in business, it is so accurate it is scary. In my opinion, I believe that's what makes it a really funny read. Since it's tragically true (almost).
These tricks he shares can catapult you really a few ranks up if you follow them, one thing is for sure even though I statet this book is semi-serious, that's the way you should be and probably take this book.
Not too serious but not too far off from the almost ugly truth. Hilarious, strange, to the point, sharp and witty. After reading this, you most likely will end up buying a few other books of Mr. Bings.
I was looking for something more along the lines of how to highlight your assets to superiors and make your work speak for itself so that your efforts are recognized within your organization. I work very hard, never miss deadlines, lead successful projects, and want more confidence that my leadership completely see my value. This book wasn't it at all. It's really meant for the Bernie Madoffs of the world. Scummy.
There are two ways to take this book. From an Entrepreneurs aspect, "Know Thy Enemy" When we look at systems and developing such systems we must learn how to reduce these loopholes. Or Do We? Drawing parallels from the 4 hour work week and the 80/20 principal, is this new work agreement really a bad thing? Wasteful time is not conducive to productivity.
Overall no matter if you are an Entrepreneur, a CEO or a simple employee, this book gives invaluable information on how "Business" really works!
This isn't going to be interesting or helpful to someone who isn't in the corporate world at the level of middle management or above.
