"[I]n the broiling heat of a Dallas summer day [...] she felt uncomfortably like a grilled cheese sandwich."
"Part of being stupid was not realizing you were stupid."
I think you have to appreciate language and satirical irony to really get into this book, because it's a bit over-the-top until the murder plot kicks in and the serious scenes begin to be interspersed with the airheads' thoughts and actions. The funny stuff is grand, and when you combine this with the
serious scenes of police and ex-police (Rebecca) and murder suspects, it should appeal to just about any constant reader.
One caveat: if head-hopping bugs you, get over it for the duration of this novel, as the deliciously wicked thoughts of these critters will be worth it.
