Anyone who has researched this topic has probably read somewhere that "The penis is not a muscle, so you cannot enlarge it." This statement has been repeated so often that a lot of people believe it without a second thought. After much research, I've come to the conclusion that this statement is not only wrong, it also exposes the ignorance (or laziness to do more research) of the authors on matters of penile anatomy.
My OWN personal research started with Exercising the Penis, as well as the book's references, which goes into detail about the penis being 50 percent smooth muscle. SMOOTH is the keyword, and often the cause of all the confusion. I was VERY SURPRISED to find that the fact that the penis is half smooth muscle is far from unknown - there are countless scientific articles and studies to back up the claim. I can't get over how this isn't well-known and how the myth keeps spreading! To be fair, smooth muscle isn't exactly the same as skeletal muscle, but studies shows that both can grow in size and definition (I listed some of the studies I found when looking into the topic).
Regardless, if you're interested in this topic, then I think it's important to do your own research into the penis, its muscle, and the exercises. Because exercising the penis is a lot like exercising your muscles (principles are the same, growth rate appears to be similar, etc.), a lot of the same concepts apply. For example: just like exercising your biceps, you can injure yourself if you perform the exercises incorrectly, or by going overboard too much. But if you start using penis exercises with moderation and patience, you should be injury free.
To close, I've researched penis exercising quite a bit and I'll even be the first to say that you'll definitely want to learn as much as you can before diving in. That's one of the big pluses of this book. EXERCISING THE PENIS has almost ALL of the information needed to get started right here in the book, everything I need for planning workouts, to great pictures, to illustrations that explain how to do the exercises, to ideas on growing more/quicker. That in mind, if you don't get the book, try to read up as much as you can somewhere else as you've only got one penis. You'll definitely take it easy in the beginning.
Some good resources on the penis muscle:
-Christ, George J. "The Penis as a Vascular Organ." Urologic Clinics of North America. [...]
-Berk, Bradford C. "Vascular Smooth Muscle Growth: Autocrine Growth Mechanisms." Physiological Reviews.
-Andersson, K. E., and G. Wagner. Physiology of Penile Erection. Physiolgocal Reviews.
The author provides a great deal of scientific method to this and is quite adept to pointing out safety first and warning about all of the specific injuries that you can obtain if you don't follow his program as he instructs.
If you use this book the way the author instructs than you will see results in no time. I think I first started noticing results within two weeks. The author raises valid points such as the penis is a muscle, only a different kind of muscle. Being a muscle, though, you can work it out to make it bigger and have more endurance.
Within one month my results were that I grew in length and girth (about one inch in length and about a half inch in girth ), my erections were firmer and more frequent (I didn't have a problem with this before but now it's just crazy), and my endurance had improved. I obtained these results because I used the program the way the author suggests and I put myself on a "workout" schedule which consisted of 3-4 workouts per week for about a half hour each time. That half hour will consist of about a 10 minute warm up and then a 10-20 minute workout session. The beginner's workout, which can be found in the first 100 pages of the book, is the workout that I used to do. The workout consists of numerous stretches of the penis (actually pulling the penis), rotations to improve flexibility which will improve bloodflow, and kegel exercises which basically consists of flexing your muscles in your groin area (the same muscles you use to hold your pee).
I have not been able to consistently work out because I now live with my girlfriend and it would be kind of awkward to have her watch me working out my member. Still, I have been able to maintain my results even with having inconsistent workouts.
I tried the pills for years and saw no results. I used this workout for a month and I saw significant results! And yes, I am a real reviewer; and no, I am not contracted through the author or publishing company to help with sales. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed!
