Seems to work well. I've used on myself and compared to an oral thermometer and they are the same. Only thing that annoys me is when you use it you have to hold down the button a certain way to use it. Press it wrong and it turns off or changes settings. Once you figure out how to use it it's fine but a tad annoying.

Very inconsistent readings

I bought this hoping for more accurate readings than I've gotten with my conventional oral thermometer. However, every time I take my temperature in quick succession I get a different reading. Here are results from a minute ago: 96.9, 97.9, 97.8, 97.5, 97.2, 97.4, 98.2. Which is the correct reading? I have absolutely no idea.

I am a nurse and this thermometer is the one used at my work. I find it to be simple to use and very accurate. I desired to have one for my home use. I tried to order one at Walmart.com but was unable to obtain one d/t the pandemic currently plaguing our country. It is very difficult to fine this brand anywhere at this time. I was so pleased to be able to obtain this through AmazonPrime. I hope Amazon will continue to be able to sell this brand as it is the best. If you use this Exergen Thermometer and consider it as a reliable source of your temperature for health reasons, you are making a HUGE mistake.
Simple to use, but HIGHLY INACCURATE and unreliable.
It doesn't even make a good paperweight.
I gave it one star only because there is no lower rating!

I bought this thermometer a second time. Now mind you the first time I bought it was about 14 years ago and it still works. I don’t remember if it had a light previously but the new one does which helps see the temp in the dark. I’ve tried countless other thermometers but I absolutely swear by this one. It’s the most accurate forgets temp reader. Honestly the ones that don’t touch your forehead are not accurate and when you’re pregnant with a fever ever degree counts to help decide what your next move should be. I highly recommend this product to anyone who needs it. Like I said I’ve had it for 14 years. It never crapped out like the other ones do. It still works but not as quickly so I don’t suggest waiting 14 years to buy a new one . Best of luck and good health to all.

The thermometer arrived when promised. It gives consistent readings. It appears accurate and easy to use. But it did arrive with the beep when in use function , not working.I toggled the loud/shh function back and forth with no change. I can't return it because of a shortage in thermometers and I need it right now. It still works great but without the convenient beeping.
