She can’t let a day go by without quoting a line from one of her favorite films, so quirky dialogue is a must in her stories. When she’s not at her research coordinator day job, Cindy is writing funny love stories, walking her dog, or slinging iron the old-fashioned way. She shares her house with her musician husband, her awesome daughter, and a cool, four-footed child that would eat all the food if he could figure out how to open the refrigerator. She resides in Nashville, TN, where live music can be heard everywhere, even at the grocery store.

Successful executive works too much in NYC to live the good life and provide only he best for his wife and daughter. The best, that is, monetarily, but leaves no time for family! His wife is asking for a divorce, and he realizes what a mess his life has become and how much he loves his wife. Can this marriage be saved, or is it too late? A reminder to savor the truly good things life offers us.

A very cute story of discovery. Sometimes it takes almost losing something to figure out just how important it is. A nice short Christmas read.

I don't usually read books like this and decided to give it a read. I really enjoyed the writing style. I am a physician and write historical fiction as accurately as I can, just like a medical research manuscript. But this author's style is quite refreshing and she should be writing movie and television scripts. Give this a read. You'll laugh and smile and every once in a while, you'll fight the tears.

It’s take someone wanting to change to change. Actions do speak louder than words. Being in a broken marriage with different circumstances helped me connect with this story.

Russ has been such an absentee husband that Gwen wants a divorce. He confesses he hasn’t told his mother about the divorce and asks her to play happy families one more time. When they go to his small hometown lots of memories make Gwen have second thoughts. Russ says he will change and Gwen decides to give him another chance, but when it looks like he has gone back to his old ways she is heartbroken. I liked the small town feel and the other characters who were introduced who I hope get their own story. I did think Russ changed his tune about his hometown pretty quickly and Gwen was very forgiving. This was a sweet, clean, quick Christmas read.
