The war is over between the neighboring realms of Canderis and Marchmont. But another and perhaps far deadlier battle still rages on. The discovery that Marchmont is home to the Resonants—men and women gifted with the ability to read and control the minds of others—has badly shaken the people of Canderis. For while they value their own Seekers—humans who empathically bond with the catlike ghatti to read truth—they are deathly afraid of the rogue Resonants known as Gleaners. And their fears are well-founded, for one faction of Gleaners has for years preyed upon the innocent and defenseless, transforming those around them into mindless, soulless slaves.
And even as Seeker Jenret under takes a mission to find the Resonants of Canderis and bring them to safety, Seeker Doyce is about to embark on a far different path—a ghatti-led journey into the past. For as a new vigilantes’ reign of terror threatens the lives of Seekers and Resonants alike, the secrets of that long-ago time when the first Seeker-ghatti Bond was formed may hold the only hope for the future…

I usually have no problem with Kindle books and the amount of errors that happen with editing. This book, however, was a sore disappointment and a very big waste of money. I bought this book yesterday and already put it down. 5 pages were all I could tolerate. The errors in editing were so awful that I got lost three times trying to figure out who was speaking and which type of speech they were using. Gayle Greeno used three types of text editing to help the reader follow the characters' interactions, but that was totally lost here. There were whole sections of text that should have been bold as ghatti were talking, or random words of non-speech text were bold or in italics as if it were part of the mind speech. I cannot read this book on the kindle. I wasted my money and now have to search for a hard copy to read that doesn't cost me $8 which is what I will pay ordering the book paperback via amazon.com. I think I wasted my money buying a kindle if the editing staff can't edit a book properly.

The war between Canderis and Marchmont is over and some people are afraid of the Resonants powers. The King of Marchmont makes a royal progress to Canderis in an attempt to show the Canderisans that there is nothing to fear from Resonants.
Doyce and Khar'Pern are both pregnant and Doyce is attempting to write a history of the Seekers Veritas for their 200th anniversary. In researching the history, Khar gets her involved in actually meeting Matty Vandersma and his Bond, Kharm. Doyce is able to go into a sort of trance and actually "live in the moment" with Matty.
In a tale of intrigue that involves Jenret, the father of Doyce's babies, Harrup and Parm, Addawanna and many of the people we learned to love in the previous books, the good eventually triumphs and Gayle Greeno leaves us wanting more.

Ms. Greeno catches your interest right away and keeps it all the way to the very last page. I have only one more book left in the series to read and I know I won't be ready to leave Doyce, and Khar, and the other bondpairs behind.

Gayle Greeno is suburb at bringing tales together without missing the subtle details. She has an uncanny ability to intertwine plots within plots to make the book one you can't put down. Excellent series. Just wish I had more time to read.
