As a small business owner who has achieved success via creativity and social media, I can honestly say that the nuts and bolts of numbers and figures is not my strong suit. However, it's of utmost importance to understand as I grow my business with an eye to sell it down the road. Julie has written an easy to understand, yet extremely thorough book. I would never attempt to sell my business on my own - I'll leave that to a professional. So for someone like me, who needs a clear grasp of the process, what it takes to get a biz ready to sell, the steps along the way, and the pitfalls to be aware of, this book is perfect. This author knows her stuff! Highly recommend.

A few years ago, I sold my small business with 100 employees to a competitor and did not use a business broker to handle the transaction. Looking back, I now realize this decision was a big mistake as I'm certain that I left money on the table by not working with someone who sells businesses for a living. I wish I would have had this book when I was going through the disposition of my company. It's a great resource for anyone who is considering selling a business. I will keep it with my other useful business books that i have collected so I can refer to it the next time I acquire or sell a company.

This is an easy afternoon read, and does an excellent job of covering all the bases of selling a small business, and addresses the topic in a very non-complicated manner, even though the actual process is usually quite complicated. With over 20 years in the brokerage profession, and as Past President of the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB), and 2007 Chair of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), I can say without a doubt every Small Business Owner, and prospective Buyers, should read this book, along with anyone new to the Business Brokerage profession. This book will now be required reading for every new associate (agent) in our office. Thank you Julie!

Business owners need to read this book, and read it a few years before they plan to sell their business! I coach small businesses and they rarely want to think about leaving their company. EXIT! is finally a book that I can comfortably recommend that they read for information on what they have to do to get a profit when selling their business. I have purchased a book for each one of my clients!

From a Business Broker's point of view this is a great book. I plan on suggesting to each of prospective sellers to buy this book and use it as a guideline. I will also suggest to my buyers to read this to get a better understanding of what gives a business value. This is no secret and something everyone needs to know. Well written and easy to understand and well worth the investment. The author really nows her stuff.
