Top customer reviews
2007 Yukon camera suffered demise from being parked outdoors & run through the automated brush car-washing many times, and it had cracked the clear cover on my stock camera, and camera lens clouded over. This replacement was chosen because it provides the option to select a spherical correction mode (non fish eye), so you are not looking at a curved image like the stock unit. Also has the option to turn on a set of colored lines like the newer cars' backup cameras use to show where you are heading, plus the red & yellow distance lines show you before it will strike an object. It takes a few tries to get used to the setup buttons, so after cycling through the menu a few times, I was able to customize the lines and setup the distances and correct angles using duct tape on my driveway (instead of going to a parking lot to use their stripes for distance setting per the instructions).
Well after 19 months with several carwashes per month, coupled with high heat & humidity in Texas, the camera apparently gave out and no longer works when the weather is warm outside.
In the mornings backing out driveway, it loses the blue color, and appears yellowish red. Lately the video output is dim and its about a 50/50 odds that the camera comes on in the mornings. As time goes on its lately been a blank screen. You really don't appreciate having a backup camera until it goes out.
