Expecting to See Jesus Video Study: A Wake-Up Call for God’s People
Leaders Guide
Product Description
In this nine-session small group Bible study (guide sold separately), Anne Graham Lotz delivers a new message from the Mount of Olives in Israel and issues a wake-up call using the signs of Jesus' return.
In it, Anne leads you through a Bible study workshop, joined by pastors Crawford Loritts and Henry Blackaby for seven additional sessions to discuss the experience of a deeper, richer relationship with God through a life-changing, fire-blazing revival.
Anne knows from personal experience that it's in the busyness of our days, as we're drifting in comfortable complacency, that we most need a wake-up call—a jolt that pushes us to seek out a revival of our passion for Jesus that began as a blazing fire but somehow has died down to an ineffective glow.
In Expecting to See Jesus, Anne shows how you can experience an authentic, deeper, richer relationship with God in a life-changing, fire-blazing revival.

For people who are critical about Anne Graham Lotz speaking frankly about the signs of the times are obviously not in touch with the events going on in real time and do not get the purpose of the book at all. The Wake Up Call is not unfamiliar in the bible. It is not something that Anne Graham Lotz just decided one day was the next subject to her book. "Expecting to see Jesus" is the personal journey that God has taken Anne through to refine her personal Relationship with Him. In reading, if you are ready for it, God will use her journey to further your walk of Faith and bring to light the hidden sins we so freely "re-label" and live with every day.
If you are ready for change, a deeper relationship with God and to see things in a way you may not have considered, then this book and study is perfect for you. If you have grown complacent in your Faith, going through your Christian walk like there is nothing new to look forward to... if you want change because you go to church out of habit or church has you so busy it is affecting your own walk with God, then this study is for you.
Whether Jesus comes before you finish reading this review, or He comes a hundred years from now, Anne brings home the point that we are to live our lives as if it were today that He is coming. She is not clamining to know the time or the day (like the false prophet we all know who is saying the world will end next week--again) she is simply saying we are all called, as Christians, to live a holy life.
Don't let the negative reviews discourage you from reading this book, or doing this study. If you want your Christan walk to be a pursuit to holiness, this study will benefit you. A month ago I didn't really know who Anne Gramham Lotz was, apart from being Billy Graham's daughter, but I am forever grateful she is obedient to the call and unafraid to be part of the few who will stand up and call sin, sin. It's what the church needs to hear... because it's time to quit the white washing and get ready....
I'm very impressed with how gently she can 'not pull any punches' but gets straight to the point.....this is too important to play games and souls are at stake!
She shares how times are matching up with Biblical prophecies more each day.
Anne uses scripture for everything she says. I have always loved her father, Reverend Billy Graham and Anne seems to be blessed with his ability to speak truth and wisdom in a warm, concise, and scriptural way.
I highly suggest reading this book if you want to be encouraged about the rapidly changing times.....expect to see Jesus, rather than fret and worry about the economy, wars, and political unrest around the world. There is an urgency in the air.....life as we know it has changed. Anne shows us how to pray more effectively, what we should be praying for, and how to get close and stay close to our Savior.
After all, if you know the Bible...you know the end of the story! Expect to see Jesus!

I was attracted to this book, because I expected to find "Expecting to see Jesus, Why?" The book does answer this, but the bulk of the book covers "Expecting to Jesus, so...." The author claimed that she was the last generation before Jesus's second coming, and I wanted to know why she thought so.
The author says, "Within my lifetime, I have seen the fulfillment of every sign Jesus gave His disciples two thousand years ago. Not only have I seen the signs but I have observed the local, national, and global "birth pains" increase in astonishing frequency and intensity. I am convinced that the kingdoms of this world are about to give birth to the kingdom of God." (p.35)
Among all the signs cited, I find the one about Israel most interesting. "Prophecy all through Scripture assumes the nation of Israel will be in existence in the 'last days.' However, until this generation, Israel could only be found on the pages of history books and the Bible and in the hearts and minds of Jews and Christians....But Israel rose up from the ashes of history! After almost two thousand years of being dispersed all over the world, descendants of the original inhabitants reclaimed the original territory and revived the original language. Israel was formally reestablished in the family of nations in May 1948.... I was born in May 1948." (p.34-35)
Of course, once you have accepted that Jesus is coming soon (may even be within our lifetime as the book argues), there is a certain degree of urgency of getting prepared. The question is: Are we ready? Are we sleeping through it and not hearing the alarm clock?
The rest of the book urges us to wake up to the call, asking us to scrutinise our life and identify what are blocking our response. As such I find most the book just goes over my head and fails to engage me. Perhaps a personal revival is precisely a very personal experience. It is not going to be brought about by simply reading a book, unless God has prepared you the place, the time, the situation, the heart to hear Him speak to you personally through this book. Unfortunately I was not at that place or time. Instead, I found my thought wandering off the pages often and recalled my own experience of personal revival at different times.
It is difficult to say when a personal revival will take place in a person, or when and how the head knowledge will travel the 18 inches down to our heart; we can only earnestly desire it, seek it and pray about it. Can we have a step-by-step guide in this matter? Probably not. There is probably no one-size-fit-all blueprint. But each of us, who has experienced it, can recount how it came about; and most likely than not, it's God-led, and each story is different! If you are really keen, this I would say, however, go and study the prophecy in Scripture (starting with the book of Daniel), then you will see what it means that God is the beginning and the end, and then your perspective will change and you will feel a sense of urgency to be different. When you really see who God is, there could be no other response than being in awe, bowing down to His sovereignty, and wanting to live a life ready for Jesus's coming again.
Although we do not know the exact timing of Jesus' return, neither would I like to speculate, I do share the author's concern that we are sleeping through events and are not alert. The author says, "Because of my father's example in the home, I was raised with an awareness that the world is bigger than my immediate circle of friends, family, church, school, community, and career," and "his conversation and even his prayers were always peppered with his conscious awareness of what was taking place in the world around him. His passionate worldview kept him on the sharp edge of commitment in his service to God." (p.70) I believe a lot of Christians lack this awareness. As the world is getting smaller, our concerns and interests seem to retreat to self and our immediate circle and community. I do believe that we need to cultivate that awareness of bigger issues of the day, and in turn inform our prayers, and from there, who knows what insights God will give to us to do or to think.
