"Susannah Nix had my geeky heart at 'whale earwax' in the first chapter, all the way through Brooke and Dylan's friends-to-lovers 'happily ever after.' Incisive, informative, and just plain old heartwarming, Experimental Marine Biology kept me in stitches...and sighs. This is the first book I've read by Nix, but it won't be my last!" --New York Times bestselling author Julia Kent
"Charming, sexy, and fun! A fabulous friends-to-lovers treat. --USA Today bestselling author Serena Bell
"I've really enjoyed this series, highlighting strong intelligent heroines in STEM fields and their cinnamon roll heroes. Ms Nix's writing has a pleasant flow with light and fun narrative. This story is also sweet, emotional, and so relatable to me." ★★★★★ --Biologist Reads Romance
"I literally could not/would not put this book down. There was just something about Brooke and Dylan that I couldn't get enough of. I'm a sucker for a good best friends to lovers book and when mixed with the expiration dating/friends with benefits piece, I was all the more hooked." ★★★★★ --KimberlyFaye Reads
"If you have been looking for a sweet, friends-to-lovers romance with a lead female in STEM then this book (and series) is for you!" --Dream Come Review
"I adore every single book in this series, this one included! And the fact that all of the 'Chemistry Lessons' girls kind of reunite in this book was amazing! It's so great to see where they all ended up." --@ifellforbooks on Instagram

Even though Brooke and Dylan were opposites in a lot of ways, their respective strengths complemented the other's weaknesses, and they made a wonderful couple. They also had a lot more in common than they realized at first, such as their mutual love of romance novels and martial arts movies. In addition, I loved the way they supported and encouraged each other, which seemed particularly important for Dylan as he struggled to accept that others could value him for something besides his good looks.
This book reads as a complete standalone, but as someone who has read (and loved!) all of the previous books in Nix's Chemistry Lessons series, I have to admit that one of my favorite parts of the story was the opportunity to catch up with Penny, Olivia, and the rest of the gang. I hope that we will get to see more of them in the future! Surely they have another single friend or two who needs to find love. :-)

Her stories flow, language may be a problem for some but I believe that the stories flow even with the language.
I do believe that she could have made the story longer (my opinion) but it may be the editor’s choice. Even though I loved the story just wish there was more of it.
I do recommend anyone to read this and any other Nix’s books. They won’t be disappointed!
Brooke is estranged from her family, and generally closed off to most people. Dylan comes to LA for work and to visit Brooke. Soon things heat up between the two, until Brooke sabotages their relationship. Can a family crisis fix things?
The dialog varies between strange imagery (female blue balls), laugh out loud exchanges, and serious, insightful discussions. You have got to love this book!

Over all it feels that this series has run out of steam and the author has lost interest in it.
As an added bonus, we get to recocnnect with some old friends, mostly Olivia and Penny - two of my favorite of Susannah's heroines.
