Much to be Learned & Enjoyed from this Book on Many Levels

Just read a digital edition & I'm motivated to review this extraordinary book.
Let me begin by stating that, although I've read a lot of Annie Sprinkle's material over the years, and appreciate her simultaneously serious & good-natured expansiveness on the still controversial subject of Sexuality, I am still never certain what her next writing will be like - if only because I've found the subtext of each book to be different.
I wasn't sure what I was going to find, or if I would even enjoy it. This is my personal skepticism at work - it keeps me impartial, and, believe it or not, open to first impressions without preconceived notions.
So, immediately, she begins with new approaches to sexuality, explaining that this is NOT a Basic sort of Manual, but an alternative approach to orgasm. Good! Er, I think. Yes, this is good - something to take me outside the box, um, figuratively...
Double entendres aside, Sprinkle proves that PhD by her name stands for some incredible thought processes regarding sex and orgasm.
Also, you can practically feel her kindness and consideration toward all readers, whomever they may be & whatever circumstance they may be experiencing. One Example comes early on as she mentions that people who are "other enabled" may find themselves developing different preferences. She has a very scholarly and at-once down-to-earth way of addressing issues or differences (she's been very thoughtful) that says in the most delightful or constructive way - everything can be worked out - or - rather - played out.
I don't want to give away the taste of this meaty manual, nor any surprises. The most important thing I can say is, it's a Must Read -
and, IF you are feeling SHY, no worries, I think you'll enjoy it too.
The fact that you are reading this Review leads me to believe that you've got to check it out for yourself.
The writing is easy-to-read, engaging & there's always something new to learn.
Sex is not a cookie cutter thing to do. It doesn't have to be anyway. And Orgasm, Oh My - as Annie will show you in the book, there are MANY different kinds of orgasm to experience and many different ways to express orgasmically.
I appreciate that she is all-inclusive - Now, to explain this further, I feel I'd give too much away.

Understand the whole world of Orgasms out there

I asked Annie Sprinkle if I could review her new book The Explorer's Guide to Planet Orgasm, because I have been a long-time fan of her work and knew that it would amazing. I also hoped to learn a thing or two at the same time. I must say that the book exceeded even my wildest expectations!
I find in my personal experience that the more knows more about a subject like orgasm, the more difficult it to explain it in a succinct, engaging, and fun way, and Sprinkle would certainly know a lot about orgasms being a seasoned sex educator including having taught in online DVDs such as Amazing World of Orgasm, How to be a Sex Goddess. This book did so deliciously and delightfully – I kid you not!

Sprinkle with Beth welcomes us to the book by explaining the ride to Planet Orgasm where visitors are called Orgasmanauts. This is a mysterious and wonderful of planet where dozens of kinds of orgasms await. The book introduces you to the training team, defines what is an orgasm, orientates you before taking you through their Orgasmanaut Training – there are four levels: Basic (intellectual level), Intermediate (having tried their tips and experiments), X-treme (everything the program had to offer), and XXX-treme (teaching others!).

The book systemically explains the seven keys to more orgasmic potential in chapter eight, then guides to through the steps for Ecstasy Breathing with clear instructions and illustrations in chapter nine. There are of course, tips to finding your G-spot, how to orgasm with female ejaculation, as well as how to attain P-spot orgasm for people with prostates.

In chapter 10, Sprinkle and Beth move into explaining three main types of orgasms: Genital (physical stimulation); Energy (without genital physical stimulation), and Hybrid (physical stimulation with awareness of energy release of flow). They explain solo and partnered orgasms, multiple orgasms, vaginal orgasms, before delving into the many other types of orgasms possible in chapter 11 onwards. You don’t want to miss The Megagasm – the tsunami of orgasms! The book cites as well as interviews esteemed colleagues like Betty Dodson, Debby Herbenick, Joseph Kramer, and Barbara Carrellas, Dossie Easton and Janet Hardy.

This fun book is interwoven with fascinating facts on orgasm research which will take you through undiscovered orgasmic lands! The tone is warm, reassuring, approachable, and playful! It’s easy-to-read, fun yet useful all at the same time! It is evident that a lot of thought and love went into this book – not to mention that it is beautifully illustrated. I would recommend to friends and cosmonauts of any age who want to understand the whole world of Orgasms out there!

Fun Floating Thru Orgasmic Space!

Planet Orgasm is a super fun and contemporarily relevant read! I loved how approachable, accessible, and playful all the information is. Sprinkle and Stephens invite you to come as you are to the planetary approach of orgasm, and reminds you to practice self-love and patience along the way. It’s definitely a book I would recommend to friends and cosmonauts of any age!

A fun and adventurous guide!

This is a whimsical and empowering exploration of the possibilities (seemingly endless!) of orgasm. The imagery -- both in the writing and in the illustrations -- is great, both open-minded, down to Earth, and out of this world. It is a fast and fun read, with plenty of activities for individuals, couples, and beyond. The text is also backed by Sprinkle's expertise, based in ample research and teeming with possibilities for further study.
