“Considerable science content is contained in the colorful and graphic illustrations, as well as in the text.. . . . The books in this series could be used in interdisciplinary (multiple sciences) and integrated lessons (multiple subjects) presentations with sufficient planning. The most appropriate place for these books would be in a school or classroom library for children with curiosity about the topics or as material for independent reading.” ―NSTA Recommends
“Kids acclimated to following bits of stimuli down the rabbit hole of the web will be right at home with the interactive approach taken by [this new book] in the Explorers series. Each spread presents a new array of facts and information bytes around a central, digitally composed image, with small color-coded symbols that lead readers off into related information on different pages, emphasizing a subject-based browse that leaps forward and backward through the book before being recapped on a final page. . . . The choose-your-own-path approach, which allows readers to follow the aspects that interest them most, makes [this book] a [clear choice] for curious readers.” ―Booklist
