And, I had one fully conscious out of body experience at age 15. Dr. Goldberg is so thorough in explaining the exact physics and science of how
these things really work, and how they happened to me, and anyone else who has these experiences. He has chapters with meditations on how to do these, and many other experiences. You can learn to do these miraculous practices from this book. The biggest barrier I have is clearing my mind and focusing. The POWER OF CONCENTRATION by Therron DuMont (pen name of Walter Atkinson) has some great focusing excercises.
DuMont's book is free or nearly free. Dr. Goldberg's books are an incredible bargain, if you want to learn the real nuts and bolts of how some of
history's most incredible feats and miracles are really done!
This book is organized into eleven chapters. The author presents his theories on each chapter, often including one or more cases intended to support his point of view. Each chapter concludes with a self-hypnotic exercise intended to bring out a particular experience.
1. In Search of the Truth
2. The Fifth Dimension
3. Parallel Universes
5. Out-of-Body Travel
6. Time Travel Through the Fifth Dimension
7. The Truth About Near-Death Experiences
8. The Truth About Time
9. The Truth From Quantum Physics
10. My Own Truth
11. The Ultimate Truth
The theory section for each chapter is brief but interesting. And the companion cases are essential to explain it.
I was also impressed with the hypnotic exercises presented in this book. In my opinion, these exercises are quite similar to some meditation techniques presented in mystical practices such as new hermetics (The New Hermetics: 21st Century Magick for Illumination and Power) or shamanics (Shamanic Spirit: A Practical Guide to Personal Fulfillment).
Most of these self-hypnotic exercises may require you to play a tape or CD to practice them properly as recommended by Dr. Goldberg. With this purpose in mind, he provides enough detail to allow you create your own tapes or CDs. As an alternative, you could purchase them through his website, as he often points out, or through Amazon as an audio CD, or MP3 Download.
In all, your mileage may vary with this book. I consider it a good reference to a variety of esoteric theories. And if you are open (and ready) for an alternate method to explore altered consciousness, you may want to add it to your bookshelf.

This book includes at least one hint about how to have an OBE which just about anyone (who even feels lazy) may not mind doing on a regular basis. It also includes what you can expect during this experience, and reason to not fear it. It is thanks to this one tip that I now have a total of three different tips that I plan to use on a regular basis specifically for OBEs (the other two are in this author's "Astral Voyages" book).
Just because I'm sure about three tips, it doesn't mean I'm seriously excluding to his others. It's possible I'll end up trying his other tips too.
I want to think a little bit about the other strategies Goldberg presented that I'm not willing to try as of now. There are other people who could desire to attempt OBEs who may find the tips I'm not trying now would in fact blend well with their lifestyles as opposed to mine. This is the sort of reason I think even people with far different tastes than me should at least scan through this book. Something that seems out of the way for me could be a pleasure for someone else, and that person could accomplish OBEs with that tip I did not use.
I'm truly impressed about a point the author made about being being aware that you're in a dream when asleep, because I had this exact kind of experience, and it certainly does not seem commonly noticed. Page 27, second-to-last paragraph has about it.
It also includes at least three very persuasive stories about NDEs.
Teleportation is a topic that can keep the average person's attention. There is at least one story about this mentioned in the book that I plan to eventually do more research about.
There's an assumption that conscious dying is very beneficial. If you already think of yourself as a very spiritual person and you believe the author's viewpoint, you may want to re-think hoping to pass away in your sleep (if you think that would be the least displeasing way to die).
If the idea of parallel universes does not interest you, check out the bottom page 42 and you could have a newfound interest in them.
On page 172 the author gave a view on death one probably did not consider before, and on 173 made a point regarding our cells.
For me page 198 is one of the most touching parts of this book. This could significantly change your life. One of the points listed on page 190, as well as one of them on 191, can greatly reinforce the ideas on page 198. If you become a lot more generous of an individual, this can greatly increase your spiritual advancement.
One might wonder if parallel universes really exist. And if so, can they effect our current lives at all? Time travel is another topic that can seem interesting enough to maintain the average person's attention. Bruce Goldberg included writings about both of these topics in this book that can trigger a newfound interest in Astronomy in the reader.
I would really like to see pages 110-113 of this book discussed on a Science/Quantum Physics forum, or have some way of seeing scientific experts' thoughts on these pages. I think the author could be onto something with regards to time travel being a reality. Also, I would like to see pages 161-171 (chapter 9 in its entirety) discussed there.
The author also covered the topic of dreams very effectively. One will likely stop to think about the possible significance of dreams he or she could have had recently after reading this. Doesn't it seem extraordinary to actually begin looking forward to sleeping?
This is definitely one of my favorite books of all time. On a sort of more irrelevant note, if you do a certain amount of research, you'll probably be impressed with the benefits of reading in general. For obvious reasons one would say that non-fiction is more beneficial than fiction, but even with fiction there can be certain benefits visually and keeping the mind (the thought put towards the plot) active. But here's an idea you might find unique; what about trying to figure out if it's non-fiction or fiction? Anyhow, you might find from different sources that reading from a paperback or hardcover book shortly before trying to sleep can be effective for assisting you with falling asleep, as opposed to using electrical devices to read such as using a kindle, or reading an ebook online with a cell phone.
I'm not someone who reads books much, but this book I would say is an exception, as opposed to was an exception. I plan to refer back to it.
On another sort of irrelevant, but noteworthy point, if you use the OBE tip mentioned in this book there are certain health benefits you'll probably get from it (that should benefit you physically).
Anyone with pets will probably highly appreciate page 85.
Page 37 could have you think twice about using skepticism in general as opposed to being open-minded.
If you look closely at pages 23 to 25, you could wonder specifically where you were in a dream based on your attitude during it.
Page 88 really impressed me because it has about a topic I never heard about from anyone but this author.
Also, there is something historically fascinating in my opinion at the bottom of page 60.
Page 191 includes at the very bottom listed something that lots of people might think they can personally relate to, and could become interested in looking more into this. This is because decisions we make now are based on the past, but there could be another way of looking at time.
Page 64 at the bottom has the introduction of a certain topic that many people even who know a lot about New Age might not be familiar with. This is a pretty interesting one in my opinion.
There's three books which stand out the most of my favorite of all the books by this author, and this is one of them.
