This one is based on a different chip set and it does work, but requires some additional effort. First, the drivers need to manually installed from the mini-CD included with the product. Second, the two internal SATA ports are enabled - the external ports are not. You need to shift the jumper blocks (4 for each channel) to enable one or more of the external eSATA ports. Not a big deal to do, but if you want to use the external ports you have to do it.

This card uses the ASMedia 1061 chipset with 2 separate SATA channels. There are 4 total connectors on the card, and you'll need to select which 2 of the 4 connectors to utilize. You can use 2 eSATA, 2 internal SATA, or 1 of each. This is selectable from the ingenious jumpers on the card.
I'm currently using this card with a Promise DS4600 RAID enclosure and a Sans Digital TR4UTBPN RAID enclosure. I'm connecting my WB 6TB My Book to the slower on-board motherboard 3Gb/sec eSATA port.
Instruction I Wish Was Included:
By default, both internal SATA connections are selected (all jumpers are up shorting pins 2-3). If you plan to use this card with only internal drives, you are all set. If you plan to use this with external drives or a mix of internal and external, you'll need to set the jumpers properly.
Let's talk about what the connectors are and how the jumpers can be set. There are no instructions included. Holding the card with the PCIE slot down and the bracket to the left, you should see the lower eSATA and upper eSATA slots to your left (on the bracket). There are the top left SATA and top right SATA. The left lower eSATA is CONNECTION 1, the left upper eSATA is CONNECTION 2, the top right SATA is CONNECTION 3, and the top left SATA is CONNECTION 4. There are 2 banks of jumpers with 4 jumpers each (8 total jumpers) right beneath SATA Connections 3 & 4. The start from the left bank with Jumper 8/7/6/5 (left to right, respectively) then continue on the right bank with Jumper 4/3/2/1 (left to right, respectively). The jumpers pins are as follows: top is 3, middle is 2, bottom is 1. All jumpers in a bank will need to be moved up or down to specify a specific connector. Left Bank Jumpers 8/7/6/5 control CONNECTOR 2 eSATA (jumpers set to 1-2) or 4 SATA (jumpers set to 2-3 default), right Bank Jumpers 4/3/2/1 control CONNECTOR 1 eSATA (jumpers set to 1-2) or 3 SATA (jumpers set to 2-3 default). Remember to move all 4 jumpers in each back either all up or all down.
Remember, although you see 4 SATA/eSATA connections in the picture, only any 2 can be used and must be set via jumpers. Good luck and enjoy amazingly fast transfer speeds.
So, if you're buying this card because you only have SATA II connectors on your motherboard, and were thinking you'd get "SATA III" speeds from it, DON'T! You would, in fact, be better off using an existing SATA II connection (which will run up to 300 MB/s) then the "SATA III" on this card (which is bottlenecked to sub-SATA II speeds because of the PCIe1.0×1 connection!)
I had another ASM1061 card that loaded BIOS in the same system (I'm testing a bunch of cards).
YMMV. Maybe I was unlucky with this card.
