This is the best GPS watch on the market in my opinion. I have been using it for the last month and it has met or exceeded all my expectations. It is accurate to within a few yards, gives distance to fairway hazards, lets you know how far your shot travels, finds the course you are playing quickly, the battery lasts for two complete rounds and charges up very quickly. In addition it is very user friendly and at the completion of your round it gives you the distance you traveled and the time it took to complete your round. I am 70 years old and if I find this watch easy to use I'm sure most people will share my opinion.
I have had a SkyCaddie GPS for 8 yrs and was looking at getting a new one. I read and viewed some reviews of the newer SkyCaddie and I found out that this GPS watch was deemed to be superior. With the other I had to renew my subscription each year and this has no need to renew annually. I have used the watch twice and even though I am still learning a bit, it is excellent.
It is now 1 1/2 yrs since I purchased the WR-67 and until recently it was very good. Recently it began to stop holding a charge and the time of day kept reverting back to a different time zone. I called once and was told that I needed to use mild soap and water to clean the contacts, and that did not help. I purchased the item in August 2014 and it is guanteed for 2 yrs. I have tried 4 phone calls and one email to them to discuss the problem and no answer. I am not sure if they are still in business, just want to ignore because of the problem or whatever.
I carefully checked all the reviews on the current crop of GPS watches, and the Expresso by far had the best features for the price. I see a lot of quibbling over the usefullness of the hazard information, which is silly. Most watches at this price don't even have any information at all. Some complained that they had to advance the holes manually once in a while. All the watches have this issue. I compared the accuracy of the GPS to some of my friends with their Garmin and Bushnells, and they were all exactly the same. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase so far.
Fast delivery from Amazon as always but when I went to register the watch on ESN website I found the same watch for $20 cheaper. I wrote the Amazon seller to make them aware of this and three days later I had $20 returned to my account. Awesome!
Now, using this on the course is exactly as everyone describes in other reviews; accurate and light weight. It was right on with distance markings on three of the courses I play here around Indy. One of them is a backwoods 9 hole track. The watch found it, surprising to me! I can hardly tell I'm wearing it when swinging. I'm right handed and wear it on my left wrist, no problems. Highly recommend this watch although I've never tried others. It works for me.
So, great product. Check manufacturer site first before automatically assuming Amazon has the best deal like I didn't do.
I have had this watch for about 6 months now and have used it 15+ times. I've used it in multiple cities in both SC and TX, so far it has found every course that I have played. I find it to be extremely accurate. I check it frequently against course markings or another players device and always find the yardage to be with a couple of yards or less of there other devices.
It is very lightweight and i love the convenience of having it on my wrist vs. using an app on my phone. I think the battery life is very good.
I'm a diehard Garmin S2 fan but only getting 1 1/2 rounds before charging made me try this product. I must say the battery life is amazing.on the WR-67. I've played 36 holes in one day and still had plenty of battery. The hazard distance is also an added bonus on courses your not familiar with.
My one Negative is the backlight.. It's terrible. Hopefully the MFR listens and the next version is improved.
I'll also say the GPS lock is much faster than the Garmin S2.
The Auto Tee time was also a pretty cool feature. I didn't think I'd use it but I have.
This purchase was a gamble from an unknown MFR but I must say I'm impressed.
Great product, I'll buy the next one with an improved backlight in a heartbeat ! So listen up MFR !!!
Worked perfectly right out of the box. Boots up extremely fast, much faster than my last 2 GPSs. Recognized my main course and gave accurate yardages, and recognized all other courses I've played to date. Also, goes 3 rounds between charges, which was a big factor for my picking it. Hazard yardages are a little confusing due to the abbreviations, but I don't use them much anyway. Overall very satisfied. If it kept my score it would have been 5 stars.
No real issues at all with it. For the money a great device. Nice to have something not too cumbersome. The big handhelds are nice and pretty but at the end of the day the biggest impact is knowing how far you have to go with the next shot and what club you can (hopefully) hit that distance consistently. If you are really a good golfer you are going to do what it takes no matter what without a device. A high handicapper is not going to consistently improve their score with a handheld over a wrist worn device.
